NNNN.org Countdown

I have purposefully not included the word "official" because this is most definitely not. With the number of internet users increasing, the obvious undervaluing of the .org TLD and the potential for trouble thanks to the Snowe Bill there is no doubt these NNNN.org domains will have significant value (at least reg fee!) shortly.

I'm not sure what would be particularly appealing about a NNNN.org that starts with the number 0. I came across a good one today, but I'm hesitant to register any NNNN.org domains since the extension is usually not associated with many numbers. Then again, all I've done is lost $xxx since buying domains, so maybe you should buy what you find :D

Very tempting, particularly with the current .org sale at name.com. However I just can't see the value in a NNNN.org unless it looks good and is memorable such as 1000, 2000, 2020, 5050, etc. But perhaps this sort of thinking is why I have yet to make any $$ in domains :yell:

I was thinking about buying 043.me last week. Oh well, good luck to the new owners. 1664.org is still available as this post too, along with 9493.org which I was considering.

An observation I made is that many of these NNNN.orgs are held by Future Media Architects; a domain company that never drops domains.

Probably nothing in four months, but in several years they may be worth a lot more, once the economy recovers. They ain't making any more of them, and demand is going nowhere but up.

A lot of names, yes. A large amount when you see that 8500 have been registered? No.

The only problem is that the least valuable and usable names left, so it would be a very risky move to buy all the remaining NNNN.orgs. There are dozens of better business opportunities in the domaining world at the moment. Owing to the crisis, most people and investors are trying to cut their portfolio to get some money. So the one who likes risks (and have enough funds) can purchase valuable but inexpensive names now. These domains could be easily worth two times more in 1-2 years, and it's a profit that no other investment can provide.
