A lot of folks are looking for brandable .com's these days.

Bocto.com is short, easily pronounced, & made of all premium letters.

How much do you think it should fetch?

Thanks,
Dave

reg fee to $30. You might even get lucky and get a couple amateurs duke it out and buy at $50. Has to be in an auction - you won't find an end user knocking at your door, ever.

That's based on prices right now. In my opinion, it's not that brandable a name... that is to say, there are plenty of MORE BRANDABLE domain names available on auction sites... and that'll hurt your price.

Hope that helps,

Pavel

Thanks, Pavel.

I just saw Zuddo.com go for $71 on eBay yesterday, so I know people are paying that kind of money for not-so-great brandables.

Looking forward to other people's views ....

I agree. You'll get good prices for a brandable domain. My problem with this one in particular is the "ct" part. It makes the name difficult to say. If the name was "Borto.com" or something it'd be better.

I'm one who picks up 5 letter brandables quite frequently. I've yet to see any sales in the $xxx's (actually, that's a lie... but I was the purchaser, not the seller).

I saw Zuddo.com go for that too (had it on my watch list). That's fairly rare to see happen (I quite like that name though... the Z makes it very "dot commish"). Probably went to an end user, not a reseller.

Last month, I don't think people found it hard to say the "ct" in "October"! :imho:

Thanks again for your thoughts.

Its a hard sell because it may have some alternate spelling like bok2, boctoo, boktwo so on. That means that it is not sufficient to simply pronounce the domain name; you have to spell it as well. This combined with the fact that it isn't a spectacular name in the first place will likey lead potential buyers elsewhere. The disadvantage of random names like "google" or "kazaa" is that you could make up a huge number of nonsense words so if somebody wants that for their site they could probably find their own available name or pay somebody out for a better one. I personally wouldnt pay the reg fee on it.

Nonetheless, Best of Luck.

Thanks for all your opinions.

Bocto.com is now on eBay - just $.98 starting price! We'll find out what the "market" thinks it's worth. (Click this link to see my auctions there.)

By the way: since all the letters are premium, it's easy to find nice acronyms. For example BOCTO could stand for Bargains On Computer Technology Online!

Cheers,
Dave
