Why this could be related to .mobi?
1. These sites are supposed to have a different content from the internet.
2. TheSun uses .mobi (see thesun.mobi). News Group Newspapers made a premium name application under TM for sun.mobi.
I have not seen more about this. It would be nice if members of the forum would report if they see these "smart ads" and what does they look like (could they mention .mobi)?

Two of Britain's most popular newspapers are offering to build mobile micro sites for advertisers as part of an integrated print and digital package.
News Group Newspapers (NGN), which publishes The Sun and News Of The World tabloids, is offering the service from this week.
The so-called 'smart ads' will see a keyword and text number appear in print adverts that readers can use to initiate a WAP push to be sent a link to a branded mobile internet page.
In addition to basic editorial content, NGN will also power richer media like streaming video and offer options such as mobile vouchers, call-backs and data collection.
Mike Gordon, deputy managing director at NGN, said: "The option to add a mobi-site onto a newspaper advertising campaign is a positive way to engage readers and get them to interact with the brand. We are seeing a growing take-up of our own mobile content services and we are now passing this opportunity on to our advertisers."
Mark Chippendale, media director at NGN, added: "Our decision to launch a mobi-site package is a great example of our commitment to lead the market in multi-platform advertising. We are offering our clients access to innovations which are not only at the forefront of technology but also easily accessible and attractive to the readers we reach."
