Domain Empire

Moving on from the 3D, Cloud , NFC, Marijuana etc....trends, what do people think will be the next big money maker for the domainer?

I have a few Big Data domains but I like my hand in several dishes so if anyone would like to share their thoughts I'm sure a lot of domainers would appreciate any insights to what's gonna be hot or not.

Cheers

Stu

You guys are wasting your money with 5k domains. 8k technology and content is already being developed. 8k is being promoted as a competitor of 4k....but 4k has gained more traction for obvious technological reasons.

At the end of the day it's content...and 4k is winning the content war with services like NetFlix following suit

what about 12k?
Why don't we just speculate on 32k like the (TM) squatters for iPhone[6-9] regged years before release?

Displays are trends, but will be a much faster evolution process than foreseen (once storage media has the capacity to release a 32k movie).

My phone shoots 4K video and I have a 128gb MicroSD (Max capacity my phone supports), but LG has a new phone that can support 2TB MicroSD (maximum possiblesize for this technology).

5K is mostly a cinematic version of monitor resolution to 4K standard size.

I had the one 8K sale... that was a few months back on a hand reg sold on sedo 8KSolutions $x,xxx - reported on NP/dnjournal.

The owner is a big player in digital TV content in the states - he's taken nearly everything up 8K....He's the owner of XOS Digital Inc.

4K is just a stop gap - lots of interesting things happening 8K.

Google news "8K" does that mean let's pull out all those GD codes and start regging? Nope! Best be smart with your $ and invest wisely..

I would suggest television as a term is fast becoming outdated , dnsaleprice.com does not show many recent sales, no data for 4k 5k or 8k. Of course plenty for tv and keyword

Agreed. It's why I've preferred "UHD" and "Ultra HD" over "4k" with the couple of domains that I've registered in that field. "UHD" won't expire for a long time, because in some ways it's an umbrella term for all the different "K" terminologies. The question is, will it or is it as popular as the "K" terms...I think it's probably more popular already or will be as consumers will get tired of keeping up with the technical terms and marketers will want to advertise under the most memorable, simplistic terminologies for their products...numbers can sometimes scare customers...which could reflect a larger problem that I have with society in general, but that's a whole different discussion lol

From Wikipedia:
"Ultra-high-definition television (also known as Ultra HD television, UltraHD, UHDTV, or UHD) includes 4K UHD (2160p) and 8K UHD (4320p), "
