Newbie Saying Hello & Traffic Question ??

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself......and....ask a question.

Intro: I have been involved with websites and internet promotion for a few years and have always purchased domain names for my sites plus "close" domains to forward traffic to them. I also purchased domain names that "striked my fancy" and never really generated any income....I just liked them and parked them (GoDaddy).

Anyway, I see that websites and parked pages have come a long way! I am now using NameDrive and getting my feet wet.

QUESTION: I know traffic for Namedrive/Sedo/etc. must be type-in traffic and no advertising with direct URL links are allowed, which I understand, but ....question.....Can you mention the website and have people type it in? It would be typed in traffic?? Yes/no?

What I would like to do is mention on one of my sites what I am doing, make a story out of it and people can type in the url. Or...just post the domain name somewhere and let people type it in. Seems like a lot of ways to generate type-in traffic.

Am I missing something? Any and all help appreciated. Thanks.

Hi has2hands, welcome. I think your question is about promoting your parked sites via non active links (example: somesite.com) In my opinion, as long as you don't publish active links to your parked domains, you should be okay. Plus, you should not be advertising asking people to type it in. It should be a voluntary type in. For example, you wish to promote a domain for sale and you write about its stats and provide a non active link, someone is interested and visits your domain by typing it in, its fine.
