Newb parking question

Hi All,

I'm relatively new to the domain game but i have done alot of reading and researching in the past couple months and have purchased my first few domains. I purchased WatchHere.net and i now have parked it at Sedo. I have my optimization keyword set to "Video". Is this what i should be doing? If so, how do people get to my site when I'm sure it is no where to be found on google because of how new it is? thank you in advance.

You are mixing parking and developing concepts.

When you park a domain, the traffic is what it is. You just let it sit there and don't do anything. If it isn't receiving traffic, then parking is a poor monetization choice.

If you want to drive traffic from Google, then you need to develop the domain.

That is the problem with buying new domains or older domains with no traffic. You can't get clicks without traffic and you can't get traffic without links/SEO/content/promotion, and you can't get links or promote with most domain parking services.

But you CAN do non-fraud promotion and link-building with some parking providers and this will allow you to choose the best keywords for your domain, add content if possible, and then get some links to your domain from sites, search engines, and directories. This will allow you to generate some income from parking, without all the work and trouble of developing a site. But a developed site will generally have more income generating potential than just a parked domain. But we have some domains that earn much more in a month that some of our smaller sites, so it really depends.

By the way, most people say basic SEDO is about the worst place to park domains. I started there myself...

Registering a new domain and developing it will bring traffic - This needs time, hardword, patience and a bit of luck.

Registering a traffic domain and monetizing the traffic is what i guess you are looking into. Registering a random domain and expecting traffic to tickle in is like winning a lottery.
