New Website - real business - review please

Hello,

I've just been completing a website www.aquariusdoors.co.uk for my fathers business. The website was build innitially from a template and populated. Could you please review this and let me know if there is anything particularly that i've missed, how it stacks up from an SEO point of view etc...

The backlinks and SEO submittion etc I'll be completing next

Why do you have such large header?
And almost empty as well.
Header is one of the most important part.

If you don't have anything to put it there, get rid of it.
Currently, prime area is being wasted.

Looks great! I agree about shrinking the header. Also I would spice up the "Aquarius Doors" so that it isn't just plain text. Make a logo or something. Here is a quick example:

The header aside I find your website to be well designed.A question about the navigation tabs. shouldn't the tags change based on the page your in and not just remain black?

Ah yes thanks James......keep forgetting to put that one on the to-do list lol

I've changed the header to be smaller now and it appears a bit cleaner I feel. I've change the Name text a bit also, and just working on some logo that would fit in to the site.

not bad at all, from a SEO point of view you need to add keywords and description.

I like the design, however I think it would look much better with a logo instead of text in the header. The white text is slightly hard to read because of the light parts of the green backgound.

Agreed and changed on the white Text. I'll bob a logo on there once i've managed to pull something togehter that looks decent and "clean"

Regarding your point about the Keywords and descriptions....I have list a kywords and phrases that I plan on targetting (including roller shutters, uk garage doors, aluminium shop fronts etc...) that I've tried to target as much as possible while still having the text readable in the body of the pages. Is this what you mean? I've also tried to put relevant keyword tags on the images aswell as I believe that helps also???

I think he meant to say...

Add following meta tags in header section.
You may as well insert robots tag.

Now, if you want to do little more SEO...
Create separate pages for each important keywords
and interlink each other.

On those each pages, just put one keyword.
Desc. tag - concentrate on one keyword.

That should start you in good direction

Thanks Copper, the current structure is close to being suitable for that also if i just have a number of child pages. Thats the next step I think

need to work out how these people put the website up to all the directories etc first

manual submission is such a bore! :P lol
