Hi everyone,

I am new kinda new to coding. I have designed a few sites on photoshop and sliced them, but now i want to code them. Does anyone here have any good tutorials on how to code photoshop designs to dreamweaver? (Using CSS, HTML and PHP). If possible, i would also love to see a tutorial that explains how to code a photoshop design from SCRATCH. Thanks!

I hate Dreamweaver. Notepad/Notepad++ is the only suitable editor for PHP/ASP scripting and web design. Just learn all of the tags from places like w3schools.com and manually enter them. More control, better learning experience, and a better result.

true, but surely instead he could've said use code view more than/instead of design view?

I use dreamweaver and purely code it, I don't get all this hardcore "if you use dreamweaver you are bad" stuff haha.

It's not really a matter of it being "hard core" or not. For me it's just that Dreamweaver uses a lot of RAM and I can get what I need done faster in Notepad. I think Dreamweaver is just a waste of space and memory IMO.

totally. plus it totally screws with WHERE i type, thinking it knows where i want to enter X or Y text, which makes it a pain in the ass. i prefer specific HTML editors made for programmers.

I agree. It is better to learn HTML on your own than relying on dreamweaver to render the HTML code.
Learning HTML and CSS will allow you to do so much thing that you can not do with dreamweaver.

There is nothing stopping you from typing the XHTML and CSS directly into dreamweaver. Thats what I use it for, and occasionally glance at the WYSIWYG preview to make sure I haven't missed out an important tag anywhere.

I use NoteTab Pro, a text editor.

What I really recommend is getting a second monitor set up (which is very straightforward to do). That way you've got one screen for the browser, and another for the code or design.
