I looked back and saw that Jeff said that I should fire up a new thread so I decided why not.

Basically the same as FruitFish's contest except we can start smaller so we can get more interest.

This taken from the other thread and partly edited.

Here's how it works:

Each entry will cost 50 NP$
Limit one choice per contestant
Maximum 10 contestants

Each contestant will choose a NASDAQ or NYSE listed company (no mutual funds, hedge funds, etc.), prior to market opening on Dec. 15. At the end of the week, Dec. 19, the contestant that chose the stock with the highest percentage gain, wins 85% of the pot. I am an avid stock trader and have the programs needed to keep track of the contest. Each day of the contest, I'll update the standings so that everyone has an idea of how well their "investments" are doing. When sending the 50np$, make sure to note your selection for the contest with either the full name of the company or the stock symbol. Thanks and good luck to all!

It will be the same except that entry will cost 50np and the week will be next week. You can sign up until 10pm Sunday Night Hawaii time. This gives most of you extra time.

Dont worry about the pot of np I will not mysteriously dissappear unless I die.

Correct, NetSol is still under control of Verisign (VRSN), at least for the time being.

Next week is Christmas. Will you do one then, Christian? I used to follow the market, but lost interest a couple of years ago - go figure! I want in on the next contest. If I can't afford to loose my shorts in the market, I'll loose my pretend shorts here!

Very good!! since you own that stock in real life looks like you have a win win situation. NP on the way!!!

Np SENT.

I need some feedback.

When do you want to have the next Contest?

What do you want the entry fee to be?

What do you think of this idea?

There will be a new twist to the contest next time. each day 5% of the pot will go to that days leader. The weeks winner will get 80% of the pot.

Any other feed back is greatly appreciated. These contests are between its contestants. I will just be organizing it and running it, I will not get any np out of it as 100% of the pot is distributed in winnings so dont think im in it for the np.

Congrats! And for the third straight time, I picked the stock that lost the most. One more loss like this, and I'll seriously consider placing real money into shorting my favorites. Anyone care to join me? :)

lol you looked good up until yesteday.

Yeah, but I was hoping to lose, though, so I can validate my theory.

The odds are impressively against losing all three contests so miserably - I calculate this to be less than 4 in a 1000. The odds of doing it four in a row is 7 in 10,000, so if I lose the next one in the same horrific way, I'll probably be contacting my broker about a change in strategy.

So you are using this in your real stocks too?

Good strategy a bit too much thinking for me..

Any Feed back guys?

When? What? How?

(look a few posts above)

Interesting! Will be fun to watch your next pick. :)

Elefekt, I enjoy the stock market contest and wouldn't mind doing it on a weekly basis at 50 NP$. Anything's good with me, I'd be interested in hearing also from other people on this.

I think it would be alright for Ele to keep a small portion of the pot, since he has the task of updating and organizing it. Other contests for NP$ have similar incentives for the organizers.
