New president of Microsoft

Stephen Elop is now the new leader of Microsoft. He's only 44 years of age. I'm sure Mr Bill will continue to influence decisions.

Elop has mostly worked at midsized tech firms, not behemoths such as Microsoft Corp. with its 79,000 employees. Macromedia, where he was CEO, had 1,500 employees at the time of its merger with Adobe Systems. And at Juniper Networks, where he was most recently COO, has 5,600 employees.

Of course it will. Bill Gates is not only still chairman which can be influential in itself but also a major shareholder.

About time they got younger management, too. Helps keep with trends that older execs may overlook.

It's going to be an interesting change. Will policies and procedures be effected, what's the perception of share holders and consumers? I'd like to see a poll about what the general public is thinking about this change.
