Hi everyone,

I am new to domaining and recently joined this forum. I bought few good names and just after a few days got a mail from a guy (claiming to be a CEO of a company ) who was interested in buying my domains. The conversation started with showing interest on the domain and then price negotiation. Later he advised me to get some domain appraisal certificate as he said its mandatory for doing business. He also provided me static web pages link (which I figured out later) where he had a discussion on the forum for genuine domain appraisals and other forum members replying that they received the money though PayPal , faking that the buyer is genuine.

However I fell in his trap and ordered the appraisal for 58 euros and as soon as I got the certificates he turned back and said he invested the amount somewhere else. As soon as I realized I started searching all over the web for domain scams and I got scammed. Later I found out that there were two transaction done on my credit card instead of one which is 116 euros. I also found that the company to which the payment was made has been crediting random amount to the customer CC so I ended up cancelling my credit cards. :(

But I spoke to my bank and got 58 euos back as it was not claimed.

Cheers [Beware Of Scams]

Why you not ask for all of it back?

I got a similar email for 5 domains I purchased under the name "claimings"
was his name alex briskman by any chance ?
he emailed me back and forth for a couple days until I realized he was a troll (and one that wanted to steal my money too)
he told me to get an appraisal or else he wouldn't by them
I was really angry but I should have known, he offered me 5k for each name which would have been a total of 25k for all five, so he expected me to pay $200 for an appraisal but I wasn't buying it,
told him to paypal me the money first and he said no and gave some bogus excuse and told me I needed to change my attitude
I sent him a very angry email and told him if he replied to me again I would report him,
haven't heard from him since,
but if this is the same guy that's pretty sad,
people like this are out to steal peoples money and should be stopped

There was nothing to do , as soon as I figured out that i just got scammed I wrote to the guy with all the evidence n all, He just turned up and said he is a broker ( 15% commission ) and he has a client who is interested in the domain. I also provided the scam links and he said he will cancel the deal n all other things.

The mail I got is

Hello!

I'm interested in buying xxxxxxx.com.

I've found it through Sedo.

Please respond with how much you are looking for it. Just specify this price in the subject line.

If you have other names for sale please email me your list with prices.
