Hi,

I'm new to the domain business. Just picked up FirstminuteTravels.com after the LastminuteTravels.com sold for $20,000. I emailed to the guy and asked for 6000 euros but he replied that's way to much and could only give 500 euros. Then I emailed him, asked for 1700 euros, he replied the same. Finally I offered him this domain for 1000 euros (and asked him about his last reasonable offer) but until now he did not reply.

Would You take 500 euros? Because I feel that domain in worth more, maybe not much more but more.

Thanks for any advice,
wizja

Honestly I think FirstminuteTravels.com does not compare to lastminute...
IMO €500 is not a bad offer. Unless you have a plan for development and believe you will make out more than that, consider selling the name. Or keep the name and wait for the right buyer.
If I understand well you approached the owner of FirstminuteTravels.com right ? Possibly you need to advertise your name or park at Sedo for example so maybe someone else would want it.

BTW Welcome to Namepros :hi:

Definitely SELL for 500 euro. Last minute travels means something- you plan it at the last minute. first minute doesn't mean anything.

It can mean quite a lot.
You could develop it with totally opposite concept; i.e. specialise in travel for those that plan it well ahead! :)

Good luck,

The key word there is "can" or "could". Every domain has potential. Until that potential is reached, most domains are worth $6.95. Many aren't even worth that.

Take the $500.

and that's the meaning of it here in Poland, Germany and Italy (maybe even more). Yes, it is not a worldwide phrase :(

thanks! :)

the decision to sell is up to you, personally I would take the offer as first minute is not as strong as last minute, good luck

Planning a holiday well ahead is certainly the opposite of last minute booking, but when it comes to the domain name itself, the name "FirstMinutebooking.com" is not self explainatory (when I see such a name I would wonder what it means), whereas lastminutebooking is completely self explanatory which explains it's value. I feel that firstminutebooking.com is not worth more than $50 and my advise is take the 500 euros offer, you won't get a better deal from anyone else.

Perhaps you didn't hear back from the guy because he rethought his 500 euro offer. As vincenzo said unless you (or someone else) can develop an identity for this concept, the domain itself is probably worth what you paid for it.

Yes, my key point was develop it with totally opposite concept.
Fully agree with other comments, but I was just offering another view on the 'potential' just as many other names that aren't developed.

If I had the required knowledge of the travel industry, I'd take it.
Once the name get's out with a little good eMarketing, I can see it become easily memorable as 50% of the advertising is done free by instilling into peoples minds that firstminute' is indeed the opposite of 'lastminute'.

With no knowledge of the industry, I'd agree that the 500 Euro offer should be taken.

Take 500€
I think this is best price that you could get for this domain.

500€ sounds a good price and a nice profit if you picked it up at regfee or in the xx$ range.
