Hello everyone!

I am 19 years old and live in Berlin, Germany. Since a few months, I have been saving up for a new graphics card. Now i was looking if I could maybe divert a very small amount of my savings to generating more money with them until I got my graphic cards. Yesterday I found out about Domaining and decided to give it a try, but no more than 50€. So, the first thing I obviously had to learn was that literally all good names are already taken. So I searched on the internet for domains that are worth atleast something and that I could still aquire. Today, I found out that the shorter the domain, the more worth it is. So I decided to buy a so called LLLL.com domain. And found nothing free. Sooo i googled more and found out in this very forum about so called "chips". So I spent the last 5! hours searching for a free LLLN chips domain. And finally found two that werent taken yet! So I bought them at "UnitedDomains.com" and now I am sitting here, not knowing what I should do next. And this is the reason I am registered here.

Is there anything I can do with the domains until I sell them or should I just wait?

Are these domains even worth something or did I just throw 38€ out the window?

When should I sell them?

What are some other good domain patterns to buy now and resell later?

Where should I sell? I thought about "Sedo"?

Congrats on your purchase..It was a nice try as a beginner and you can sell it easily. I can see some related sales in namebio.com for LLLN.com . You can either wait for a buyer for a high ROI or sell it on a platform for a decent ROI. You have a sale section in namepros too..Good Luck..

I al just aquired te domain 666s.xyz because it was the last 666 domain avaiable for .xyz. i boug it obviously because 666 is a lucky number in china and there are very few cccc combinations with 666 in it. but im still not sure if its worth it, since it is a .xyz and not .com.

I am afraid the value of your two domains is not that great.

There are 2 sites where you can find past transactions: namebio.com and shortnames.com (there may be others BTW, but I don't know them)

Pure LLLL domains have a good demand, but not CCCC

There are two main approaches in domaining:
- investing significant amounts in 'high quality' domains that are likely to appreciate in a few months/years. I don't think this approach is suitable for a beginner

- Buy domains you are likely to sell within days or weeks which supposes that before buying, you must be able to list ~10 to ~50 companies who are likely to be interested to buy your domain: geo+profession domains for example (eg: denverplumber.com), keyword domains (especially when there are longer keyword domains or different extensions already registered). There are many more situations and only your flair will help you detect something interesting.

Two good tips I've read:
- do not hesitate to drop the domains you couldn't sell after reasonnable attempts (unless that have a good long term potential). The profit you make on one domain can usually offset the loss on the others.

- work on a fake portfolio (like in the stock market). Look at upcoming auctions and imagine what price each domain will be sold at. Wait the end of the auction and compare. Be aware that some domains get sold underpriced or broadly overpriced, so the method is not perfect, but it's instructive.

888 is better than 666 in China..anyways read as much as you can...and learn the inside out..
