New Google technology to detect click fraud...

Google may soon come out with an entirely new technology to detect self-clicks (clicks on the ads by publishers themselves).

Whenever we apply for an Adsense account, applicants need to give their fingerprint impression. Then whenever they clicks on their own website ads, Google will find it out through fingerprint technology... all PC and Mac mice will have fingerprint detection soon...

The continued growth of Google depends on addressing click fraud.

Google built the PPC market to what it is today, and with it attracted hoards of ex-spammes, scammers and criminals who developed very ingenious and hard to detect ways to milk off the honey at the expense of honest advertisers.

Google knows it. It has become the number one priority for Google to address it, with their armies of the best tech brains in the world.

Won't be surprised if PPC as we know it takes a huge shave in the coming months.

This is quite some time ahead of us, so by then, self clicing frauds will still be present, and when fingerprint technology is present, then there will always be people who try to go round it

I'd say its a fairly simple formula. Something like ip address within a certain time frame, exclusivity of ip address clicks, etc.

google already could detect click fraud much better if they tried. Problem is they are making too much money from it.

if you use adwords, set a group for a completely bogus term that would never get typed in. Have a friend type it in and click the ad once an hour every hour for an 8 hour work day, and tell me how many clicks you go charged for....

It will take time for fingerprint technology, but still now Google has implemented some fraud detection technology, just keep clicking on ur ads continuously from one IP and google will bann ur account, but they wont do this at large scale because the amount of money they are earning from this wil one day make richer than Microsoft. because of Adword right now Google can be said the Bigget Advertisment agency of world.

It wont help in long run , proxy are there to get caught and day surely the big G is going to catch them

Ever seen the huge proxy networks that click bots work off, systematically mining thousands of dollars per second?

And those huge networks of thousands of PPC parking pages owned by one party, deliberately made so big that it becomes very complicated to pin down specific areas of violation as the click bots randomly rotate their hits across these huge networks?

The PPC model is inherently flawed and a magnet for fraud, and as organized fraud reaches new heights of sophistication in mining PPCs and with such frequency to the point that they they shake the radar, a major crackdown must happen.

Now back to topic. I don't think this would prevent 100% click fraud. I think bots will become smarter and "steal" fingerprints to genarate clicks.

The whole problem will be eliminated as revenue to you starts coming based on click quality like what revenue.net is shifting to. clicks won't just pay you automatically- if people buy stuff through clicks, then you'll get paid.
