... and their respective "suffixes" (in the .COM's)! :gl:

:hi:

I am considering the purchase of some .WEB's, .JOBS, .MAIL's, and .GUIDE's, etc. when, and IF, they ever are released fairly and affordably to the public by ICANN accredited registrars, IMHO. :talk:

Question: Should I be registering or thinking or registering (or acquiring if the domain(s) are already taken ... which is the most likely scenario, actually), respective suffixed .COM's now, IYHO's?

Ie., If it was, for instance, Boston.Jobs (I'd attempt to acquire "BostonJobs.com" now, in advance). If was Canada.Guide (I'd try for "CanadaGuide.com"), etc., etc. I can't imagine there are many left ... so this may be more conceptual overall, and I appreciate your time.

Finally, IF these extensions are ever to be released ... how would you suspect valuations for these ".COM" counterparts to fare, long term?

PS. I'll try to post some previous threads here shortly, as well ... ones that discuss in more depth the various new possible extensions and their companies, and so forth.
Thanks folks, at your convenience if you have a moment ... have a great domain name evening!

Yes, yes ... I'm doing a search on the site right now ("Quick Search" top right ^^ ) before I literally fall asleep (long day in the posts/threads, etc). :gl:
Thanks for your patience.

Righto ... here is a link, to start: http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-08apr05.htm

".MAIL" is currently in the works, I believe (will get the link - plus it's mentioned in the link above, too), whereas ".WEB" ( http://www.webtld.com ) has sort of died off and ".GUIDE" are either not as far along in the process, or more iffy, IMHO. :|

I'd still appreciare discussing the concept of the respective .COM suffixes ... IF any/all are eventually released for public access.
Thanks again.

More domain zone more degradation to the market. It is good for end users that new tlds are appearing and it is bad for domainers. Funny, but the more tlds are there the more valuable .COMs become. Paradox. Besides prospective gTLDs, there are still many ccTLDs that can be brought to life. For instance, there is an autonomy in Ukraine, Republic of Crimea, that can pretend for a domain extention .CRM. After .CAT appeared I think it is possible for territories or cultural autonomies to get three letters ccTLD. More: Scotladn, England, Wales, Northern Ireland can have their domains, as well as many of Russian national republics like Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Karelia. etc. China has 5 official autonomies that also can pretend for ccTLDs.

More of a state of denial than paradox per se. :imho:
