I'm surprised and I don't understand.
I received an email from 101Domain where it announces new extensions .now and .deal.
I went to the site. Any word I enter, common as house, domains, etc. or even fgfgfgf the price is always $ 6250.
Can someone explain to me why?

Apparently that's the deal now. Wasn't it the same with some other extension recently? Started GA with some crazy price and which then dropped a little every day?

I really don't know, pb. I'm really new in domaining, and I see odd things I need to understand yet.

Ah, in this case I'd recommend you stay far away from new tlds until you're sure you're ready (if ever). Focus on .com and your country's ccTLD first, they're the easiest to understand.

Hi

i'd stay away from registering any names there.

imo...
Why did you write that? I needed to contact their support service, and it was very good.

Hi

CS isn't the issue, prices just seem higher than others.
some of those new extension registration costs will kill your budget.

imo...

101Domain has details about each TLD on it's own page:
.... (I cannot post link)

Replace now with the TLD you want to know about.
Yes, Silentg, that is the plan for .now on 101Domain. However, after 09/28 it costs 49.99$.
If .now extension is so expansive it has a value. All those who say me buy .com are wrong.
.now is a premium domain if I spend $6250 (also for fgfgfgf.now).
If I resell, for example, domains.now for 8000-10000$, some of you will buy it as a premium domain?
What crazy logic is that?

Both TLDs are in what is known as an Early Access Period, which is pretty much standard practice for gTLD launches nowadays. The price starts high and reduces every day for seven days, before finally settling on the normal general availability price. If you try your search again today (24 hours after your first try) you'll find the price is lower, but you'll have to wait until EAP is over for the lowest prices.

Yes, I understand that. If you go to the link Silentg posted you'll see the plan. Today 09/24 price is set at $3299, BUT if you go to the search name bar 101Domain, prices are different. For example, domainnames.now at $130, hightech.now at $49.99, home.now at $650, and so on.
They don't follow the price plan, prices have collapsed today. Yesterday all domain names were at $6250. A high price for a (dot)now, I think.
All that is very odd for me, what is the logic behind the scenes?

Revenue maximization :xf.smile:
What? and why? If it's so, it's not serious. 101Domain sell domain, we want to buy domains at the right price (Has a domain a value or not? Why $6250 instead of $130?).
They could say 'buy a .now for $10000 and we'll give you 1 year of popcorn free. Do you guess how many click and revenue they would have?

All GTLD domains go through this: They release it with high price and price gets dropped until General Availability.

Here's their pricing:

Since you're new, consider taking Domain Academy course. It gives you a good background/foundation on domain investing. And Study the sales before you start investing.

Hi

before you spend any money on such extensions, you have to consider if the word before the dot, fits with the extension.

ie: right.now fits, but hightech.now doesn't
that's the appeal factor and you'll see later how the registry will reserve all the words that "fit" so they can price them higher.

imo...

Silentg, I think you didn't read my last replay to Domaincite.

Domain Accademy is a good idea, if there is any free course online.

Probably,
I searched on 101Domain:
right.now - $3125
movie.now - $3125
mylife.now -$49.99
working.now - $49.99
go.now - $6250 (and this is the price fixed for yesterday)
travel.now - $3125
domains.now is sold, someone spent $6250 for it. Wow!

These prices are very odd. I don't know if any Domain Accademy course would explain to me the strategy of Registrars's prices.

It's registered by Amazon Registry Services, Inc. on 2024-09-17

go.now - $6250 (and this is the price fixed for yesterday)

It is probable that LL domains will stay at that price for longer or forever. Other names can also stop at some point or the other. The ones you see for $49.99 each are not a part of the premium pool.

This morning I received this email from 101Domain:
"Following up on our previous email about the Early Access Phase for .deal and .now domains, we wanted to inform you of an important update.
Yesterday, there was a pricing issue on our website which has now been resolved. If you were searching for a domain and found it listed at a very high price or not available at all, please check again. The domain may now be available at a much lower price.
Also, please note that the registry has some unusual pricing structures for Early Access. If we find a pricing error on a domain you order, we'll contact you to rectify it via a support ticket."

Then, there was some issue with prices, it wasn't only my mind.
