I have given away domains on this forum to a number of members and some have not changed the whois details. I realize I should have done this now but it's too late, they are using my email and address, phone numbers etc. I contacted one member here and they said they don't own the domain anymore and another never responded.

Would the register Godaddy do anything about this?

not sure, maybe godaddy has a form to report invalid whois but they don't attend to it, if someone will report it to icann wdprs.icann.org icann rep will advise godaddy about this domain, otherwise your email address will be retained there until the new owner wanted to update the dns and he/she forgot the password.

If you email support and tell them you sold/transferred
a domain to a new owner but they have yet to update
the whois from yours, they will contact the person and
request the change be done. I just went through this
with one of my own. It only took 2 days for it to be completed :)

I know I've reported several domains not using the correct whoIS to both Godaddy and ICANN, but nearly a year later.. nothing.

It's always best if you change the details before transferring the domain.

If you do a whois lookup on the domains at GoDaddy there is a "Report Invalid Whois" link. Use that. If they don't correct their whois, GoDaddy will take their domains and sell them off at TDNAM.

You don't really need to report invalid whois
you have a transaction history with this person.
by contacting support, it should get taken care of.

ok I will contact Godaddy as has been written here & get them to notify the new owners, thanks for the feedback! There is about 5 or 6, will definitely make sure I change whois next time I give domains away or sell them after this.
