iRiver G10 to take on PSP

iRiver has unveiled the G10, a new portable gaming console and media player. The G10 sports a 4-inch WVGA screen capable of displaying 260K colors, will come in 4GB and 8GB capacities, and runs Windows CE 5.0. The device features a sliding-screen design with familiar gaming pad controls. Further details are expected at this week's CES show in Las Vegas

Do you think is worth to register g10 domains?

well maybe ... i m not quite sure because people registered xbox related domains ... but you know every body copies the first person and after a while its not worth while ... i mean there are so many people who are just launching xbox related forums ... so its upto you but yea if you got a real nice name yes it is worth while

I dont know the games market well, but i'd say a logical informed way to decide would be to look at comparitive console retail stats. How many XBox consoles are sold for every iRiver console and how many PSP consoles for every iRiver (on previous releases).

If XBox oustripped the last iRiver console by, say, 50-1 then chances are there will be (generalisations coming up) 50 times more Google searches, 50 times more visitors and 50 times the revenue to be made from an XBox360 domain than a comparitive G10 domain.

So if Xbox and PSP domains are extremely lucrative investments, then maybe its just worth it. Bearing in mind it'll be a short-term window til the G11 comes out, and it takes 6-9 months to even start to get half-decent Google listings on a new domain (ie leave the Sandbox)

Ah yes and also, the name "G10" isnt probably helping you. With "XBox" and "PSP", they always keep that part of the name so "XBox.com" will always do well through the new versions til they ditch it altogether. With "G10", chances are the next one will be "G11" and all your searches/hits stop the minute its announced. No room to manoeuver.
