There is no way to go to the site and open an account, you need to get an invite, fabulous is invite only, email went out 2/5/09 stating that.

I believe there may be (reasonably hefty) likely traffic expectations ... for an account / invitation at Fabulous, IMHO. :gl:

Thanks for any clarification.

so.... you mean they are not offering account for regular user..
I am not looking for premium account but just a free account to receive a name.

They seem like they are not allowing to register domains also..

I also agree Fabulous is the best in the business.

This thread did raise an interesting point about obtaining an account with Fabulous. I sent a support ticket to Fab asking what happens if i sell a name that is reg,d with them to a client who does not have an account there. How will I be able to push the name to the new registrant if he is unable to open an account?

I will post the reply here, unless Mike explains sooner.

they should have procedure for selling domains and push to new buyer.if not domains there are like one and one;buyers do not like that

In the email they sent on 2/5/09 they did mention that if you sell and need to push you must included this link and they had a link in the email, I did not click it but the email did mention it.

If you need to create a retail account with the higher pricing for a buyer of one of your domains or for you to accept a domain at fabulous from a previous owner anyone that already has a fabulous account can send you a link to do that, existing fabulous account holders look under "News" in your control panel and under "Feb 06 2009" there is a link provided to give to a buyer of your domains to sign up for a retail account, if you are looking for a wholesale account with the better pricing and parking program then private message Mike http://www.namepros.com/member.php?u=15292 as the monetization/wholesale account is subject to approval as I believe they are looking for 50+ domains and domains that contain commercial keywords that receive type in traffic.

I recently asked about the requirements for being able to open a Fabulous account, here is the answer that I received:
To be eligible for a Fabulous account we require that you meet at least one of the following:

โ€ข Domain portfolio must generate US$1,000+ per month
โ€ข Transfer 1,500+ domains to Fabulous

Please let me know if your portfolio generates US$1K a month or if you are willing to transfer 1,500 domains to us.
Regarding non premium accounts just for a transfer, I am not sure about the current options. Otherwise you might just ask the current owner to allow for a transfer to another registrar.

If you see this....

06 Feb 2009 Fabulous.com - Recent changes More...

click on more, and it provides a link to hand out for a retail account assuming you have a wholesale/monetization account, maybe you are not seeing this because you have a retail account and you can't hand out a retail account from a retail account?

this is what it says when I click more but I have the parking/wholesale account...

Fabulous.com - Recent changes

Thanks for your continued support of Fabulous.com

Just a quick update to let you know of a few changes that have been made; Wholesale/Monetization accounts are now invite only. If you are wanting to refer someone you know to join Fabulous, please email support and they can review the application manually.

Also, you may have noticed that the Sign Up link on the home page has been removed. If you regularly sell domains and get the buyer to open a Retail/Registration account (and push the domain once the sale is completed), you will need to provide them with this link.

Please don't hesitate in contacting us if you have any questions or concerns.

All the best,

The Fabulous.com Team

the pricing is high on a retail account so if the new buyer can't get approved for a wholesale account truthfully I would unlock the domain and let them transfer it where they wish, unless they don't mind the retail prices as I do consider fabulous the best on security, I'm guessing the reason you don't have the retail account link is because you are using a retail account, Mike will have to clarify if that is the reason you are not seeing the link.

Hi guys,

As Tribulatio mentioned, to obtain a Wholesale/parking account, you must meet one of the following requirments:

โ€ข Domain portfolio must generate US$1,000+ per month
โ€ข Transfer 1,500+ domains to Fabulous

If you believe you meet one of these, feel free to send me a PM or email (mike at fabulous dot com).

Also, if you sell a domain and need to create an account to push the domain to the new owner, you can use this link.

If anyone has any questions or needs assistance with anything, please don't hesitate in contacting me.

Cheers,

Mike
