Networking my computers

hi,
i have hook up my network this way:

internet==>cable modem==>switch=>computer A, computer B

one works, but not the other?
i have used my win XP wizard but its no help!

I have a wireless access point/router with a 4 port switch and have a similar hookup. My internet connection (cable modem service) hooks up from the cable outlet in the wall to my cable modem. I have an ethernet cable that connects the cable modem to my router. Another ethernet goes from the router to my PC. There are 3 open slots where I can plug in ethernet cables to connect additional computers (and of course since this is a wireless access point, i can access the internet on my laptop that has a built in wireless card).

i use a router also but there should be a cd that came with your router but maybe you should specify which computer works and which doesnt.
