On Wednesday, network company Level 3 Communications cut off its direct "peering" connections to another big network company called Cogent Communications. That explains it! I was definitely affected. About 20% of the sites I tried to go to very recently just said "could not be found". I found that to be particularly odd! I tracert a few and it did show a problem at Level3. Huh. Yep, I'm on RoadRunner.

This is where that saying "you get what you pay for" comes into play. Everyone knows cogentco is cheap bandwidth and they've tried to pull this stunt on many other Tier-1/2 providers, usually smaller ones though. This time and for the first time they are fighting a battle with a bigger one.

I'm a RR customer and sad to say I was without internet :( Monday night when I got home from a swim meet for highschool, it was out. Then on Tuesday morning about 7:30 I think it came back on.
