I was watching TV and I noticed Zune uses .net, not .com. The .com just redirects to the .net. I was wondering, are a lot of companies doing this now. I mean .net fits better on some domains.

The dot com is parked at Sedo and the seller wants at LEAST $1200 according to the page. He would probably "demand" more.
It's funny in a way becuase the dotcom holder is doing me a HUGE favor by keeping it parked and undeveloped. He will probably think as time goes on that the domain must be worth more as my site grows..making it even less likely he willl sell it. I hope it remains parked forever.
Also my .net has older reg date. The dotcom probably expired at some point and was caught.
More and more companies are seeing the .net as a solid alternative to the dotcom especially when they have to negotiate for thousands of dollars or start possible legal actions to get the com.
Whenever I do searches for new registration, drops, and such...I choose .com and .net only. The rest I don't need. I love too that .net is a cheaper registration/renewal fee.
Slick Domains said:.net just means they couldn't get .com. That is what I think whenever I see a .net site developed.
