i'm based on the UK and typically i will type in .co.uk and .com domains (and .org in the case of charities but rarely) however i find i never type in the .net ext

i'm wondering if it's different across the pond - do you find much typo traffic with the .net ext?

I think the only typo traffic you would get is if its a typo on a popular .net site. For example, if myspace.com was actually myspace.net, and you have msypace.net, you would get a lot of typos i would imagine

.net can sometimes provide good type in traffic but, it all depends on the main site.
if you domain name uses the .net as main site it could result in high income.

for example...
google.com would redirect all users to google.net and google.net would become
the domain everyone remembers. then a domain like googleonline.net would
get better traffic.

Mostly .net is cheaper then .com but, for type in traffic I do would suggest you
to go fot the .com's

goodluck

For type-ins .coms are always the best. A popular .net might get good type-in traffic depending on the kind of promotion of the site, but .com undoubtedly is the best tld to get type-in traffic.

Agree with faisj.

And speaking from experience, .net variations can be extremely traffic savvy and lucrative if associated with an existing .net powerhouse. Fewer in number yes, but many more diamonds in the rough, as more look to the obviuos .com arena.
