Negotiating with End User

I reached out to an end user regarding two of my domains that fit their business. The end user is a really BIG company. I offered two domains neither at a set price. One is a 2 word dot COM that fits their business the other is a one word dot TV that fits them even better.

I got a reply saying "What do you have in mind?" Both are set to negotiation at Sedo. Should I direct them with a link to make an offer at Sedo or set a price? I'm afraid if I set too high they will walk, and if I set too low I will leave too much $ on the table.

Any advice is appreciated. Feel free to PM me too.

I'm a newbie, and haven't made one sale yet so take my advice with a grain of salt...but I saw no one had commented on your question so...but I would figure out a way to let them start the price negotiations. Just tell them that you had a "figure in mind" and what is the domain worth to them? But I'd wait to see if someone else will comment :) GL

I normally state a price but mention that I am also open to offers.

It's your job to state a price if you were the first to contact him.

Most people find it annoying for someone to contact them and then also ask them to make an offer.

Set a price where you have some room for negotiation, that way if they counter you will get what you wanted either way.

agree

this is BIG fault with newbies sending solicitation letters.

they get a bite, then don't know how to reel the fish in

:)

before you toss your line in the water, you should know what amount you want for you domain.

don't worry about leaving money, just make sure you get some!

Thanks for the replies. Ironically I'm on a plane home from Alaska where I was fishing. Things worked out there. Let's hope my prospective sale does too.

I had already responded with prices and qualified that they were negotiable. Now just waiting for the hook up.

Thanks again.

lol, guess my comments were either coincidental or quite prophetic
