NEGATIVE REPUTATION A BIG PROBLEM! THis is the big problem, so many people just giving negative reputation to anyone, THey seem its like a F*** game, i am very dissapointed! If this is the problem, people not respecting each other, then i wont come to this forum, and share my oppinions etc. Becayse i seem its garbage, i Think you should track down the people and see people who gives negative reputation for no reason! And give them warning or suspend them! That is my 2 cent!

Please Post your name too if you got negative reputation for no reason!!

I received a negative reputation from someone for pointing out that they had obviously not bothered to read the thread.

I received an uncalled-for negative reputation, but all I had to do was report it, and after some justification and reasoning, Jeff removed the bad rating easily :)

yes, but its a issue, the moderator still has to spend time and remove it, isnt it better just finding the people who is doing and banning them and it will be fine! or giving them a warning!

Maybe the option to give negative rep should be taken away. I mean, if there's a bad poster out there, they should just be reported to the mods. That way, decent NPers are not subject to the whims of anyone who signs up.

May I suggest that to process a negative feedback it could or should be checked by the moderators to make sure it's legit and worth a negative reputation. :tu:

Cheers to all,

Reputation points are private and those comments are not seen by anyone but you. Negative reputation points are never shown on your account.

So if these are private, then what's the big fuss? These are like PM's saying "I don't like you." or "You're a great friend!" At least you know who your friends and enemies are.

Jokez Guy, as much as I like you, I gotta say this: WAKE UP! This is a world where that fantasy forum will never occur... If the admins start banning random people for one bad post, the forum will decrease in population and/or reputation. :'(

I think it's fine the way it is! :tu: :talk:

Thanks all,

"Reputation points are private and those comments are not seen by anyone but you. Negative reputation points are never shown on your account."

Thought Reputation really counted , but found out doesnt count no one can see, so its all good!

Someone just gave me a bad reputation point, because they didn't like the controversial content in one of my sites. It was wise of the NP staff to keep neg reps a private matter.

Even if the neg reps are private, ie people cannot see them, surely they count towards the green bars in the profile side bar so if people keep giving neg reps on a whim, people won't be able to build up their reputation indicator. So although you cannot see them individually, collectively they have an effect.

What annoys me about the rep system is the anonymity of it. People should not be able to give a rep, either positivel or negative without signing their name to it. Nothing scares off the bully like being held accountable.

I know of at least 3 members who have regularly posted very thoughtful and useful comments at the forum, throughout the past year, who have only one or two reputation "boxes" under their names, whereas other members who barely have the history or the number trades to support a reputation, have a full string of them.

IMO, "reputation points" is a misnomer. They have more to to do w/ popularity than w/ reputation, and should be be called "popularity points". Trader rating and what the member consistently brings to the table, over time, is what reputation is about. It may look nice to have a user pane lit up like a St Patricks day party, but I don't see "reputation" points as, necessarily being relevant.

But, hey, my reputation went from being a "gem in the rough" to being "just real nice", so what do I know? I don't have the reputation necessary to be seriously regarded, anyways . :hehe:

BTW, I am offering NP$ for reputation points. PM me if interested.
