Need suggestions

What can I do to start getting into photoshop. I'm working with HTML and CSS recently and I've decided that I need to add graphic design to my arsenal.

Anyone reccommend books, online tutorials, etc to help me make some images?

Also realize that I'm not that interested in messing with a photo but rather making my own. Thanks in advance!

Just keep practicing, maybe enter some design competitions here? Practice is the key.

I think photoshop doesn't need tutorials until you want to learn professionally ! You just need to start practicing on some images ! That's the way I started ...
