I have a page that offers the official download for the trailer to a film. (I offered to host it a few years ago and still do).
I have noticed that a lot of hot linking is done so I have implemented a system that combats this. If the referrer is not my page or the official page they are shown a different page that gives them a new link to download the page (with an access code so this link cannot be used for hot linking purposes).
I wish to make it so there is a possibility for me to make money from this page, the problem is I cannot use google adsense as there will be little to no content on this particular page.
Ideally I would like to make the adverts/or anything else on the page relevant to the user (the trailer is for a low budget horror movie that a heavy metal band stars in) so that there is a decent enough chance someone will click/buy from the adverts.
Has anyone got any ideas of things I could do.
1 Idea I have had was to display related items from for example amazon (has anyone got some dhtml or javascript that will display say 3-4 products easy enough and show description, I have seen some good ones on the net but typically I can't find them when I need them). Other than this idea I am really not sure what to do.
