Need help to build news website

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of developing website for domain : States Today.com :wave:

The intention behind the website is to be showing the latest news / events in the US.

Is it possible to get some news feeds from other websites? (But in our brand - White label affiliate programs?)

Please guide me to build content rich website with latest updates & news.. Also some revenue.

What all & from where should I use?

Flags, infos, pictures, news, events, celebs, ...

I'd recommend a political section, perhaps with a focus on state issues too. Just a thought stemming from your domain name.

Also, although probably not highly important.. I happen to like those image scroller things that have image/text for major stories and headlines. Ajax is another nice thing, you can put major stories in categories on the front page without making the page 10 miles long.

Also: Depending on your budget, AP and others are acceptable additions to any news site. Major networks utilize them all the time.

Getting content from other websites will be just a waste of your time and server and the domain name itself.

You get nothing out of it.

If you are really planning then you should go for unique content otherwise there is no point in making a copy paste news site which gets no traffic from those pages.

Most of the news site buy their contents from Associated press (AP) and Reuters. Maybe you can have a look if you have very very high budget...

Else, some news sites would allow you to use their feeds (bbc, cbc etc) on your sites. But they are not whitelabel.
