Hi,

I'm currently the owner of flatea.com and I've to chose quickly about to renew the domain name or not.

I am a web developper so I need a brand site to show my work, but I really don't know if flatea is a very good one.

Can you guys please give your opinion on the domain name ?

If your scrambling to find a use for the domain, then most likely it is a domain you have no real plans for and if it's expiring, how long have you had it for and why is it still undeveloped? To me you got this domain originally with no real intention or plans other than to resell it otherwise you would have a site on it in the first place. So the real question is, if you renew the domain and keep it for another year, will it actually get any use? If so, then renew it. Otherwise I would let it drop or sell it here on NamePros unless you feel you need another year to decide on what to do with it.

This one might pass as brandable but if and how much you'll be able to get for it will depend on how well you are able to market it and convince potential buyers of its benefits. If you leave it like that it will probably remain without any value, but if you choose to work on it, you might be surprised...

I'd renew it because you decided that it was such a good name, to name yourself it on NamePros. Obviously you have a connection with this specific name, so why ask for opinions? Do I care that Skype is called Skype? No. I only care that I can do conference calling.

Build and brand on what you believe works for you.

If you like it, then go ahead with developing the name. I dont think it is non-brandable as such. Easy to remember, spell & pronounceable. The rest is on your shoulders, how & what you offer through your platform.

Could be marketed as a brandable name for WP/BB theme developers as there are a few WP themes & BB themes with similar names. I would consider looking towards that area if you consider renewing it.

The name is nicely pronounceable and short . But if you don't have a proper plan or idea on how to develop it , then better to put it for auction here. At least you may be able to get reg fee back.

If you have some idea around 'ftatea' then go ahead.

I pronounce it as is. Your intended use seems to fit the name though, as I mentioned about; it's a very web-oriented domain.
