Hey guys,

I’m thinking of starting a computer mouse review website, but I’m stuck on a name; Any suggestions?

The only plausible idea I have come up with so far is whatmouse.com , do you think it sounds/reads ok? :-/

I’m open to all suggestions, and rep will be given. :tu:

Thanks in advance,

-Ed :)

If i were to develop something like what u just mentioned, a few questions would com,e in my mind:

1. Is the scope of a Mouse review Site sufficient to attract hits / people to my site?

2. Will i be doing mouse reviews only or do i plan to later diversify into more vast subjects / areas?

3. Why would I do mouse reviews? Whats the use and scope?

Well if u need to just do mouse reviews from ur site then the name can be mouse centric like "mouse review" or "point device review", else you can have a broader meaning name like "tech reviews" or "digital reviews"

I will look into some possible names in either if you can explain the expanse of your development, whether it will only concentrate on mouse or other things later down?

goto the aftermarket, search for keyword "mouse". You should be able to find lots of names going to be expired. If you like any of the names, use a dropcatcher to register them.

Whatmouse seems good to me. Reminds me somewhat of WhatCamera/WhichCamera magazines. As PowerUp said. You'll probably find loads of mouse related domains for sale cheaply at TDNAM, but I think you've already got about the best already.

Thanks for the replays so far!

Krossat,
Well the original plan was to cover a wider range of input and output peripherals; such as mice, keyboards, headphones etc... But I started to think down the lines of having a more focus site to start with and promote and then later on expand via another website and the two together closely. But now thinking about it would most likely make sense to create, like you suggested, a wider focus site.

I did try a few names such as inputoutput.com and such but I couldn’t think of anything good.

I know there is definitely scope to attract a fair amount of visitor as I already own a minisite reviewing one pacific mouse website ( www.mx-518-review.com ).

so now im looking for a domain name that relates to a website which review computer peripherals (input and output)

chhers,

-ed

Thats good, a wider range of devices is better. Meanwhile i looked at some possibilities with keeping only mouse in mind. I was surprised so many good generics were taken. Could only find the following in a short while. Will think in terms of wider range generics and will let you know if i find something good.

These are available:

MouseZine
MouseMatching
MouseGrouch
MouseRant
PointProve

hi,

i had a quick go at what PowerUp and stub suggested and tried aftermarket and found peripheralscentral.com which seems ok but then i noticed the min bid price, $800 :td: .

i was also thinking maybe think of a term which relates things such as mice keyboards headphones and i was thinking maybe it would be best to focus on gaming activty in these areas.

cheers,

My personal suggestion would be to stick with the Technology part of it. Dont go into a spcific "use" of the computer, but talk about individual products / brands. Each product can in turn be used in different areas then on like "gaming", "dtp" etc.

I think you should sit with a business developer and build your concepts on paper before implementing. Also have ur milestones for development.

I found some tech domains, check ur pm.

Rohan!
