I have a big renewal period coming up Q1 and Q2 2026 that will cover over half of my entire portfolio (roughly 2/3 of my 600+ domains). This year has been surprisingly fantastic for me sales wise, and I do not want to use any of my earnings to cover the costs of renewing some of my domains. It is time I let a few go.

I need help from the community in determining what is my best route in terms of liquidating a percentage of my portfolio through a public auction. I have taken Atom, DNWE, DropCatch, Sav, and the NamePros auction section into consideration, but am unsure about which will offer me the best results. I already realize and have weighed the pros and cons of all five platforms. I am really just seeking second opinions at this point.

Sav's commission rate is only 4%, while Atom and DropCatch are 7.5% and 15%, respectively. A much higher take but both platforms probably receive way more traffic than Sav, but that is only speculation. DNWE is 100% resellers only. The NamePros auction section seems like a great choice, but I do not know how many people will actually SEE my domains. I know they would get much less traction than if I listed them on an auction website.

I am planning on going through my domain list and picking out a couple names to sort of "test the waters". If the results are positive, I am going to liquidate even more. For context, I will probably start with 5-10 domains of various quality. Mostly (real) brandables, two word combos, 4Ls, domains with traffic, domains that were developed, etc. Domains I know would perform well and actually have performed well in the past. I've gotten offers for some of them through NamePros so I understand the value. I have multiple names at Bodis that do great I was thinking of auctioning first.

I'm stuck with how I should proceed and I welcome any comments and thoughts on this topic. I really appreciate it!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Hi

if we don’t know the names then how can we advise?

still, sedo is having great domains auction soon, so that may be an option.

also, you can always post on forum and seek offers to gauge interest

imo….

If you can avoid paying for a bulk portfolio worth of renewals and retain your profits, that;s a;ways a plus.

The following analysis of 11 different domain marketplace platforms might come in handy in your research, regarding different marketplace options: https://www.namepros.com/threads/11...ir-advantages-disadvantages-and-more.1354416/

It really depends on the domains being listed and not necessarily the platform itself. Sure, some platforms have a different type of userbase and others get a little more traffic than the rest, however, regardless what platform you use, it really boils down to the quality of the domain listed.

Remember, as soon as people see it and decide it's it low quality, they just leave and never return. but if they see it and determine it's premium quality, they will not only check back on it, it has the potential to go viral when people share what they found and refer others to check it out.

It also helps if you market it yourself, regardless where you list it.

Heck, you could even put some on a NamePros Lander, customize it, and Monetize it and then market it, while listing them in the NamePros marketplace to cover all bases. Maybe they will even generate some revenue while they await being sold...

Whatever you do, AVOID SAV.com.

There are reports of people being unable to withdraw their funds.

Great info, thank you!

Thank you for informing me of this.

That's very unfortunate to hear because Sav was what I was considering using. Do you have a link to these reports? I would love to read what people have said most recently about the platform because I have used them in the past without issue.

Edit: is it this thread? https://www.namepros.com/threads/sav-com-payment-issue.1339554/
