.tv National ad to sell .tv domain

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
In a recent national magazine -- I think it was Newsweek -- I saw a display ad, where somebody was offering to sell Flat.TV and Flattv.com for $5 million(!). Whois says Flattv.com is owned by Thomas Manski. Is he on NamePros? Anybody know whether he got any nibbles from that ad?

i hope he sells it :)

i have oled.tv, hypervision.tv & 3dlcd.tv so it should bump up the value if he sells it. :imho:

i some how suspect he would settle for 100K-300K :)

Ask and ye shall receive!

It was on a special page of ads between pages 92 & 93 of the January 2 Newsweek. I don't know whether this was a national or regional ad supplement; maybe it wasn't in all copies of the magazine.

I had forgotten that WallStreet.biz was also advertised here (apparently by the same person).

Here is the ad (scanned at 150% to make it more legible):

What do you think?

Cool. It's great to see a .TV name in a print ad. Will bring much awareness to the namespace, IMO.

Thanks much for posting the scan. Rep added.

I never thought of advertising domain names for sale offline.

So...how do you go about getting a corny TV commercial made?

I have some great ideas for a VarietyShow.tv Ad

I know...how about buying some adspace on the top of the TV guide channel? There are always text ads there... hmmm

Think about who your audience is and then you'll determine whether or not advertising is worth it.

With all the current Flat Screen Buzz and competition amongts the makers ... the timing is right. I would guess that Mr. Manski worked the Consumer Electronics Show as well. For the money I would have taken out a billboard in Vegas during the CES show this last week... as he most likely would have gotten a lot of free media coverage.

Well, you know what they say about the hide tide lifting all boats.... :)

Does anybody how much for this kind of ads on newsweek?

The cost to put a three day ad in my local newspaper to sell some used tires was outrageous, I can only imagine what an ad in Newsweek must cost!!

I have actually seen this before. I can't remember which magazine, but basically approximately 50 domains were listed, advertising cost split between all parties. I would actually consider something like this, if others had premium .tv domains that they felt were worth advertising.
