Nameserver Registration

Hello ,
I hope it this the right place to ask this question.
I wanted to create my own private name servers so I registered the following domains with my registrar as name servers :
ns1.mydomain.com --> IP1
ns2.mydomain.com --> IP2
then I checked them on verisign whois site and I became sure they are registered.
but they are not still resolving by nslookup ! do I have to create A records in my DNS server of mydomain.com ?
if I have to create A records for ns1 and ns2 , whats the point of registering nameservers with registrar ?
can someone please explain how private nameservers work ?

I believe you should be creating NS records for ns1 and ns2.

You have to create child nameservers for every nameserver that you brand privately....these child nameservers will actually have A records pointing to ip addresses of the nameservers of your registrar...contact your registrar for the child nameserver ip addresses....

I've solved the mystery of registering name servers , Thanx to linux and dig :D
if you want to check if your name server is registered by registrar or not , you can check it by using dig tool in linux , look at following example :

look at the last part of reply :
ns1181.dizinc.com. 172800 IN A 66.7.209.121

it shows server "H.GTLD-SERVERS.NET" has resolved this name server , so it is registered by registrar.
but if it was resolved by dizinc.com name servers : ns1.dimenoc.com or ns2.dimenoc.com , it was showing that this name server is not registered by registrar and can not be used as a name server for another domain.
