Hello,

I sold a domain (i never used it) on the Namecheap Marketplace successfully. Unfortunately, it got abused for spamming and NC did nothing about. It was a bad experience so far.

Somebody had the same experience?

And just curious: If WhoisGuard is enabled, the new owner can see the Name, Mail and Address of the old Owner? I got different responses from NC staff.

Can you kindly elaborate on what you mean that you sold the domain and it got abused for spamming?

Domains are sold in the marketplace independently of hosting. Are you selling hosting? What exactly happened? Did you not sell the domain, or did you? Does this affect the buyer or you?

WhoisGuard affects the public view of the domain name upon a whois lookup. The internal data remains the same, if I understand the question. If you don't want the new owner to see your info, I'd change it before he assumes ownership of it.

The old owner receives a mail about domain contact information change along with the new owner's Name and E-mail. So probably new owner also receives such mail about the old owner.

I don't think this is in line with the ICAAN Policy. I filed a ticket and it is currently under investigation by namcheap.
