NameBio.com is getting ready for a new update and we want to expand upon search functionality. We have a few things on the drawing board we hope to accomplish, but what would YOU like to see?

It seems as though your search funtionality is really good anyway :tu: I can't think of anything to ad to that.

Suggestion - How about the area on the left being used for domains that are for sale (maybe free to list but commission based if sold), maybe have it so the names change each time it loads the search results.

Alot of (eyeballs) people are using NameBio now so I think it could be a better use of the space IMO

...just a thought.

Thanks Gazzip, thats not a bad idea at all. Perhaps that would be something to add. Ive got a few more detailed functions I hope to be adding, but I also want to clean up the search bar, making it more user friendly and we expect to be adding a new sales feed in the next week.

The "view page" dropdown box reverts to "1" after you click on a page. After I go through a few pages I can't remember what page I'm on. If it retained the page that you were currently viewing it might make navigation easier.

Perfect! Thats on the correction list.

One more usability request:
Currently table headers only sort the results in a pre-fixed order. I wish we could toggle the sort order on each click to the column header.

Thanks for the great tool.

It would be helpful if I could exclude some extension from the search list e.g. .com , .net etc...

Very minor suggestion, but at the moment you have to click on "Search". Think it would be better if you could simply press tab and enter or something similar. One of my most useful domain resources; keep up the good work!

Even the minor ones are helpful! I will put this idea in the development pile. I cant imagine this would be too difficult.

In the patterns section, could you add the ability to type in a capital "L" to specify any letter? Right now, it stands only for the letter "L" itself, so if you type in, "NLN," you get:

6l1.com
9l9.com
1l4.com

and so on.

Otherwise, we can only specify whether it's a C or a V. Which makes it difficult to search for, say, L-L-Ls.

My other suggestion was going to be the page numbering thing that notlikeyou mentioned, but he got to it first!

Actually, thats a really great idea. I'll see if we can get this added! I like it!

Hey Justin,
Awesome site.
I need to learn ALOT about site building, before critiquing others,
unless there were very blatant problem's.
But I plan on using your site quite a bit.
You have been very helpful in this forum to me,
so if you'd like you can throw whatever you want in my sig!
Everytime I come up with something of my own,
I get in trouble.
LOL
Good Luck,
Red Rock!

Hey Justin, I might have found a bug, when you search for a single letter, it looks in the extension as well as the name for that letter.

Obviously, if I'm finding bugs, I'm using your site. It's a great site, thanks.

Thanks Bud. I'll let you know about the siggy think sometime in the next week when we gear up for the launch.

Huh... Thats is interesting. I'll need to go back and check that out with the developer... Thanks for bringing it up!

For example, Clicking to "Price" sorts the results in ascending order of price. I want to be able to sort the listing wrt descending prices also. Same with "Domain", also.

Justin, first of all thanks again for providing NameBio, it is still one of my favourite tools.

A feature I would like to see for ccTLDs that take registrations at the third level e.g. .uk with .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk (plus others) would be an option to search at the second level i.e. *.uk, so say I searched for flowers and selected .uk, results would contain the likes of cheapflowers.co.uk, flowers.org.uk
This would be handy for those extensions that have .ext and .com.ext

Regarding ccTLDs again, would it be possible to reorder the list to a more logical order, e.g. .com.au would appear between .at and .be instead of amongst other .com.ext, grouping .*.exts together may also help those that are unaware of other second level offerings beneath and extension.

I think my suggestions are far from essential, but fit in with the way I work, and would be interested to see if anyone else thinks along the same lines?

It actually can do that already. If you click on "Price," it's ascending, but if you click on the arrow next to "Price," it switches to descending.

Wanted to let you know - this functionality was just put in! Not completely done, with numbers - but letters are working great.

Now when you input a capital letter, it will search specifically for that.

Soooooo

Lets say you wanted to know what CVCV's are selling for that start with an S...

You would search the pattern: Svcv....

Lowercase v = vowel / c = consonant...

You ask, and you shall recieve!

Can you give it a really nifty red background?

Aside from that, nothing really, it actually does exactly what I want.
