We previously announced a search for a great brand name for an online service for sourcing domain certificates. The thesis is that there will eventually be innovative alternatives to the likes of LetsEncrypt that empower more people to secure their sites with robust technology. That search was described here:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/ssl-root-certificate-authority-ca-brand-name.1158491/

In the meantime, we have had some great domain candidate submissions. In order to select a winning name, we welcome your input on name selection through poll and discussion as we make plans to co-create another tool that helps make the pie bigger.

As for the list of brand prospects, we used every slot allowed in the poll software. There were many good ones left out unfortunately, but it is still a long list from some very thoughtful submitters who I look forward to highlighting among the top contenders to the extent they choose to be identified!

Wow, what a list!

I submitted NameSeal again. Personally I love WebSeal that is a seriously great domain for this. I also liked NameCert and TrustCert.

I submitted as well Smartificate.com which didn't make the cut. I forgot to submit Trustra but not sure it's that good.

Hope RM has lots more in store!

Question @Rob Monster . Is this the "end all, be all" poll, or will there be a certain % of these that make it to a "final round"? Like a Top 5 or Top 10.

Also, can Epik (or you) see a scenario where a few names may be chosen for other secret projects? Or Winner takes all?

As a former participant in some of these past contests I can tell you that good names go fast. DNcert is extremely short and the DN prefix was also part of the name for the last contest winner, so the fact that someone else would reg it for this one is almost a given.. 21 of the 40 names in this contest were regged just in this past week, and those are just the few that made it to the poll.

I voted for NameCert.com (not mine), old 1997 reg!

It's not a big deal now, @Rob Monster already explained to me in PM that he had so many domain submissions at the same time that he missed my suggestion, I am sure that he would have registered it if he had seen my PM on time. I only suggested this domain, it's not something that I would have normally registered for myself. Nevertheless someone else submitting it doesn't bother me as a name like that being available I am sure would have gotten someone's attention sooner or later. As long as @Rob Monster acknowledges my efforts in suggesting him a good name I guess I am happy.

Lucky you ... I was told by pm that my domains where not included as he was looking for domains that fit the request and are prized fair and hat my domains usually don't fit that .... this is a very unprofessional response to say the least ... but this is very common at this forum ... however I expected to be given at least a chance and be asked for prices ... but I guess he is not much for second chances ... so after all I will take it Personal .
You're lucky you got a detailed response from Rob, imo. He doesn't need to answer, especially if your submissions weren't adequate.

Stop feeling entitled, and embrace the fact that the CEO of a major registrar is bringing the domaining community together, one way or another. This should be fun, not something you "take personally."

@Rob Monster is one of the active CEOs I have ever seen. Even in his busy time as a CEO, great to see he replies almost for every DM we send to him, atleast he says thanks when he doesn't like the domain

Sumeeth

No ... I feel everyone deserves second chances and we all deserve professional curtesy ... which i guess no one knows how anymore ! In the 20 years or so that I do this full time I met a lot of people , but I still amazes me how many people hide behind there computer and feel it's okay to write or not write certain things ! ( like you ! Not knowing me but telling me to stop feeling entitled ... this has nothing to do with entitlement thus gas to do with what you learn as a child how to treat people ... i sit at my computer and go through 1000's of names to find the right names and figure out how low I can sell them after having them for 15 or 20 years and I submit dictionary domains ( well some in different languages ) and then I get what I call a very arrogant response ... sorry ... this has nothing to do with entitlement this gas all to do with being professional ( I did not get a response on my original list .. i got a response after my post on too if this page ) that that response was not ask for and it was nasty . So this has nothing to do with entitlement ... please know the whole story before judging.

Rob's not only a great guy, he's extremely busy. If you were as busy as the Founder/CEO of a "Monster" sized company who's also holding a submission contest to find a brand name, and had literally hundreds of submissions, I'm sure you would have canned or semi-canned responses too. It's more efficient and effective that way, agreed? Read his posts....he said there were several good names that unfortunately, didn't make the cut, but maybe should have. I have a couple in the list and received just literally 9 words. Don't feel bad or take it out on Rob or Epik. You understand business, so you know how things are sometimes. Best of luck in all you do though.

Please only concentrate/focus the poll, and vote your favorite name.

Note: My suggestion and favorite is:
FullEncrypt.com
Reasons: Brandable, Comprehensive, Descriptive, Memorable, All-in-One;
namely very powerful, very ideal.

I hope every submitter getting luck . We should not be a winner today, learn from failure is more valuable to domainers

I am unsure why FullEncrypt is being liked by many.

If I google the keyword, I get references to disk/ drive encryption. Nothing related to Domain Certifcate/ Certification/ SSL/ Root Authority, etc.

Am I missing something here? Is there a link?

This is a plus/positive feature; FullEncrypt is matchless in the certification field.
(No confusion, no trademark, etc.)

May be the way SSL is expected to work ?

reason why SSL is used is to keep sensitive information sent across the Internet encrypted so that only the intended recipient can access it. ... When an SSL certificate is used, the information becomes unreadable to everyone except for the server you are sending the information to.

And fullEncrypt presents 100 percent encryption.

The overall goal is for Epik to become a trusted Root CA, installed widely across systems and other vendors' certs trust and link off of it. Hopefully, it becomes a big enough player that it's installed by default on all Microsoft Windows PCs by default or as a Windows Update for example. It is the base cert. so the name selected should focus on it literally being the first of a chain of digital certificates. The "seed", or "origin" cert if you will.

I do like FullEncrypt, but you're right Rahul, it reminds me first of disk encryption. Of course I am biased in my opinion that DNEncrypt.com is a great candidate because although there needs to be a distinction between "LetsEncrypt", there are similarities. Similarity creates familiarity, which eventually leads to inherent trust in the name and function.

You can almost cross off WebSeal, as that's TM'd. Epik needs something to convey "authority" and "trust" as it's related to digital certificates, but also brandable and catchy enough to separate it from either the "obvious" or "mediocre". I don't mean to repeat, but I believe DNEncrypt lets consumers know exactly what they're in for....an Epik high quality offering that will provide security to the asset. (domain) I also like AuthSeal and DNCert though.
