Name in limbo

im so confused here hoping someone can help me
i bought a domain name froim a friend and im not sure what she did i think instead of transferring it to me she changed over all the info to my info, i see the who is info in my name but have no idea how to access the name to forward it
she had a hosting/name deal with nomonthlyfees.com who uses bulkregister.com which is showing up as the new registrar
how can i have a name registered with them when i dont have an account with them?

Get your friend to transfer [push] the domain into your account. --> This all starts at the registrar, once the domain is in your account and you have control of it, then you can shop around for hosting services... but make sure you have control of the domain, not just whois information!

she says when she logs in the domain name is no longer in her account, when i called bulkregister they said it is in a resellers account (nomonthlyfees) and that the domain is locked, they said i need to get the domain unlocked and get an EPP code, they also said wait 24 hours after unlocking to do the transfer request so maybe thats all been done and im trying too soon? I hope its that simple
