Can anyone give me an idea as to the value of the undeveloped MySQLForum.com domain name?

Thanks guys.

I had a $500 offer on it but I thought I'd get some other opinions before I sold it. I would much rather develop it however I don't know much about MySQL.

Nice name, 4 figure income to right end user.

$500 is acceptable but I think you should hold out for 1k

I do believe that webmaster related adsense pays well. The name is pretty strong.

$1k is my valuation

Actually, I have a different view of this domain. I am thinking it'll go for high $xx. A $60-100 range. Becuase your domain is MySQLforum.com, not MySQLforums.com. And you are out of luck, MySQLforums.com is already registered :D.

Plus postgresqlforums, sqlserver7forums, sybaseforums, those are all available too. I am sure if the price would indeed by higher, those would be registered.

That is not true. And I highly doubt you'll sell in the hundreds or thousands. 60-100 is my appraisal. SQL Server and Oracle have been around longer and are way more popular than the opensource MySQL.

Sorry, not true. MySQL is most popular database among online developers.
Just for example, lets guess on what database is THIS forum... MySQL? :hehe:

It is almost scary that people think this. Just because it is used by many php developers, it doesn't make it the most popular database, and it isn't. It is like saying php is the most popular language, when it is NOT. It doesn't matter what database this forum software uses. I have worked with web developing for over 7 years, and have been IT certified with Coldfusion for 4 years, I think I'd know what is the most popular database.

And by far, it is Oracle Enterprise, http://www.oracle.com. You can keep posting your thoughts, but I am not going to argue them. View statistics and rankings of the two and you can find it out for yourself.

I am working with web server administration for over 4 years, web development also, and I think I'd know what is the most popular database. ;)
