MySQL Help Needed. Newbie. Please Help?

I recently tried to upload my CSV excel file into the MySQL database (everything was exactly in order and matched to a tee), but it failed. I then asked my host to help and they uploaded it for me. I don't know exactly why the CSV doesn't work from MyphpAdmin but my host said I could if I knew about SSH??? I didn't know it was that difficult?

Now that they have done this for me, I just wanted to ask:
1. How do I query the data in the db from a webpage?
2. How do I enter new data into the db from here on?

Any help would be so appreciated. I'm a total noob when it comes to databases, but an expert in Excel. I really want to learn the basics of database construction and php development. If anyone has any ideas or can link me in the right direction, that would be awesome.

PHP/MySQL Tutorial - Part 1 should give you the basics of reading/writing to your database using PHP.

It's really straightforward, and once you get the hang of it, you'll be a pro.
