MySQL help.

Hi, I hope I can explain myself clearly enough for somebody to help me here.
I used to have my website and forum on Host A. I then moved my site to Host B.
Once teh site was moved I then needed to move my Database from A to B.
I exported successfully from A and Imported successfully to B.
NOW! the problem I had was this. To reinstall the forum I had to create a DB which i called domain_name this got the forum up and running.
Then when I transferred my DB it was called domain_hostA.
My question is this. How do i get my forum to read the appropriate DB. Have I dont it completely wrong. If so does anybody have a step by step "dummies guide" ?

which forum software are you using, if the backed up database is the same version as the 1 you installed you should just be able to import the data into your newly created database, alternatively if you already imported it into a different database you can simply change the config script for the forum with the correct username, password and database name of the database you wish to use.
