So, myspace started out with your own url (myspace.com/NAME).

Facebook did not

Then, myspace got apps

Facebook did not

Facebook got both the apps and urls, and then facebook and myspace were going head to head for the top...

Then, myspace came in, and finished it:

Actually, you got some stuff mixed up. Apps came out on Facebook WAYYYYY before MySpace considered using them. Then MySpace started displaying full names, like Facebook. Then MySpace added their chat at the bottom, again, just like Facebook. Oh yeah, and MySpace added status updates, just like Facebook.

MySpace has been ripping off Facebook since day one. Maybe that's why Facebook is ranked #4 while MySpace isn't even in the top 10. MySpace just generally sucks, is built for kids & high schoolers, while Facebook will maintain the majority social networking scene for long to come.
