My Suggestions for next official NP Auction !

Hi,

I attended my first official NP auction on last wednesday. And it was awesome fun. But it had some shortcomings as well :imho: . I'd like to make my suggestions to improve it. Please let your voice be heard if you have something to say.

• Auction should be held on Fridays. So that people from all over the globe can attend it without worrying about waking up for work next morning ( yeah...most of us do have jobs :P ). I slept at 6:40 AM last time, and was dozing in office all the day.
• I really liked the idea of buyout. It infact attarcts more people to put their premium names for auctions. But probably 30% is too high. People still will not put 3 letter names and other good names due to that. Probably, different slabs can be predefined for buyout %. May be, 0-1000 ( 30% ), 1000-5000 ( 20% ), 5000-10000 ( 10 % ), 10000+ ( 5% ).
• It would be good if we can see the list of upcoming names while the auction is going on. So, that we can probably take some break in between.
• It wouldn't be a bad idea if there can be some minimum quality standards for auction names. Probably, all submissions can be moderated and we all can save time on names like johnhasabigdong.com
• And last but not the least, we need free snacks !! And smoking should be prohibited :P

I am a little torn about wanting them to be on Friday. I am on here everyday and to be honest with you the number of members online drops off on a Friday. I think that it would be detrimental to hold them on a Friday. That being said, I do feel for those of you who are in a time zone which makes the auctions a little more inconvenient.

I don't agree here. Usually, there are always 18-25 people in NP chat room irrespective of the day. These numbers are way too low to come to a conclusion that friday has low turn outs.

One thing that needs to be resolved before the next auction is the problem
of Double listings

At the "Un-official Auction" there was 2 Names I thought I had won at auction
Only to find-out that they were previously sold at the Official Auction
This problem was not limited to myself , others have indicated they had the same problem.

It is not only annoying to me and the person listed as the vendor , but just wastes time at the actual auction
plus can we have some formal method of notification of the names that have been won . Maybe a PM listing the name/Amount Sold for & what is PayPal Equiv. if acceptable/ All the details need for transfer /

Next to stop the constant and annoying problem of the same question being asked , Are these real dollars /NP$, Paypal Ok
and so on
Is there anyway that only people who have read a complete Rules and conditions of the Auction be allowed to bid/participate
plus can the details of each name be displayed somewhere
including Registrar /Expiry/ Paypal accept Y/N
every name offered the same old questions keep getting asked
the Ticker above the chat room is sometimes displayed, but is useless at best. Needs to display all the info for name ,not as a rotator.

This is supposed to be NamePros ,it is about time at least the auctions were run professionally.

Also we should have a flashing background for the chat telling that this is an NP$ Auction not $ Auction :lol:

The unofficial one however seemed unable to control it and there was a lot of shushing going on from the staff, which in turn was more distracting than the chit chat to begin with.

On Friday, it was much better. There was only one distraction on the whole night, this person was delt with and behaved after that. The introduction of the second chatroom and the notice on the top of the chat was much better. The second chatroom didn't need to be used however it told people that this was a auction and you shouldn't talk.
