My parking alternative attempt

Hi,

I have the domain name ibidubid.com- I bought it for the legacy traffic about 4 months ago. It gets about 650 uniques a month with a Sedo clickrate around 25% at about $.10 a click= $15-20 a month.

I built the "Auction Resources" site and loaded 'er up with Clickbank type affiliate links. What do you think- is it overkill? It took me a Saturday afternoon to piece it together.

I would like to hear from others regarding making your own "parking" pages- is it worth it and what are the strategies, etc.

My .02

Shrink the top "title" boxes so the fonts fit exactly (Make them small, the boxes will expand if a user's font is too great.)
Cut the # of colors on the page, as they don't all exactly match or go together
Expand the "content" section (The main section) horizontally so people feel that it is more of a content page.
Shrink the font on the links-left hand column to be smaller than the default font.

Another thing you might want to look into is joining cj.com and becoming an Ebay affiliate. You could probably get lots of click throughs to join ebay and get cash from that...

Well I have my own parked page. I use a bunch of different ad companies on them. I also have alot of popups too and I dont really care if anyone buys the domain or not because I got all these domains for free. I get about 50 hits per day total.

I used to proof-read in college for xtra $ and you might want to correct these lines.

I hear your inclusion of the the reader using "us", as if they are now a member of the "Pros", and it's a nice subtle hook. :tu:

I might have said "exactly what (true Pros....) are looking for" or "the Pros"... but these are only subjective opinions and each, (including yours) will work.

Please keep us informed about it's progress. I know I'm interested in some type of "Alt" to parking. This also seems like a good way for new reg's to develop a following.
