The man is the apartment backed up to mine died, apparently within the last couple days. Another neighbor just checked on him and when he didn't answer his door, she got the manager and they found he was inside, dead.

I saw him sitting outside a few days ago. His name was Jerry Chapman. I didn't know him very well.. to be honest, he was a heavy drinker and we rarely saw him outside.

A shame because he apparently had no friends or family and other than the tenants here, no one ever checked on him.

Very sad, but at least someone thought enough of him, to post his passing here.

Kinda sad to come home and see his car still sitting in his parking spot.. that car is a really beatup station wagon and it never ran. Jerry used to get mad because the cats would sit on it and I guess that alienated some of the other tenants.

Thanks for the offer of support.. I just wanted to mention his name and, if nothing, else, he'll be remembered now by Google at least. :)

Dave you really do have huge kind heart. Not many people would even take the time to write something about someone they barely knew, you never cease to amaze me. Although I didn't know him at all, I will make sure to take a moment tonight and say a special prayer for him (and for you of course, being the great guy that you are).

:( - Very sad Dave. It's always sad when anyone dies, especially when the person honestly did not have many friends or family.

As a matter of fact a student at our school died a year ago, he was unfortunately hit by a train :(. He too did not have many friends. A devistating and shocking thing to happen.

Here is a link to the article: http://abc.net.au/news/australia/nsw/midnorth/200504/s1338473.htm

May they both rest in peace! RIP.

Again, very sorry to hear that Dave.

Life isnt nice at all :( it was a noble gesture from your side.

To be honest, it wasn't nobility as much as "guilt".. I could have been more "caring" but we often don't see someone else's problems for what they are until it's too late.

Im sure he had family at one time. They say that heaven is a beautiful place. You recognize everyone you once knew. If you dont have friends here, you will surely have friends there. Dont feel guilty. Its quite hard sometimes to know how someone is feeling. Some people enjoy being by themselves, its quite possible he was having the time of his life.
