This will be my last post in the .TV forum.

Too many posts of mine have been edited, deleted or moved in the last few months without explanation.

I will drop in from time to time to contribute to allthings.tv.

I wish you the best with your .tv portfolios at this exciting time.

You have been a great member of this board before it became the "cool" place to be. It is a shame to leave now when things are just getting going! Stick around!

Where else are you going to go? Not much .tv action on the other forums.

Be thankful equity runs a tight ship or this place would run aground.

I have learned this long ago while posting on multiple automotive forums (I am a car guy - lol) Whatever you do in the forums, do not take it personally. So what a couple threads got moved/deleted - big deal.

Really wish you would stay - this .tv thing is just getting good now!

Without explanation? learn how to read the rules and follow them. Bottom Line this is not kindergarten. The only two threads I know about that were edited or moved was an auction you tried to run with a reserve price against every domain forums rules, and a domains available thread that you did not post in the domains available thread.

People who want to take a cavalier attitude that they will do whatever they want without reading and adhering to the rules will have threads deleted, moved or edited when they are not following forum rules.

And the link to the domains available as premiums is all that is needed http://www.enomcentral.com/auctions...mium&Page=browse&OrderBy=MaxBid&SortOrder=ASC

No need for anyone to list 52,000 domains

Grant,

You are one of the people that welcomed me when I joined in May of 2006 and learned alot from your posts....In fact your reg of ED.TV was my inspiration for EDUCATION.TV......

I know exactly what you are talking about with regards to posts getting edited or deleted without explaination........

I do think this is something the moderators need to discuss. It just comes across as a little hurtful to be moved without a reason given.....

Now sometimes Equity will give advance warning of what will happen if people post this that and the other.......fair enough......but its not like the mods are moving thousands of threads every day.....

Like when I changed my name to Allthings.TV....I got 14 reponses and then suddenly whooosh...thread gone and moved to the Break Room......the fact is no one knows me there and I know no one there having never been to the breakroom before......but my point is, a quick PM saying it has been moved to the breakroom would have been nice.

THen I would have known that A. it had not been deleted B. I had not done anything wrong C. I could tell people to go there as Searching.Tv had asked, if I had changed my name???? I culd tell him and did tell him yes, go to the breakroom its there... http://www.namepros.com/1895734-post1516.html

I had to PM RJ to find out what had happened to my thread. And RJ replied pretty promptly and courtesly.

But I am sure a notifying email would go very far in making sure that members didn't have to go through a negative experiance of wandering what they had said and why was it deleted or moved........

Do the mods have time for this???? The answer is yes - if its worth it...........the question then is - is it worth it??

I know that it would be something I would do on my WEB 2.0 forum, no matter how busy it gets

But all this of course is JMO............

The bottom line Grant is that we will miss you on this forum......and for those who have known Grant over time, is one of the stalwarts of the .TV extention

First off Millers on this subforum every rules is spelled out, and people here have been told to read the rules. Your post which was moved by another mod who did not tell me, was correct in moving a break room post. READ THE RULES before you post.

And you have no idea what time mods have the fact you feel they should pm you or someone else for their lack of attention to the rules is an opinion I disagree with 100%. With your own forum do whatever you like but in this forum people should read and will follow the rules

And Grant every other available threads post is in the available thread you want be to believe you did not know about that or understand why your post was moved ?

Equity,

As I stated, it is JMO.......not holding anything against you or any of the mods.......yes, people should read the rules.........but if they don't, perhaps a one time only email/PM reminding them of the rules, so at least it can be said that an attempt has been made to connect with the member.....

Rules are rules.....but sometimes making room for human error goes along way....people want to feel like they are in a easygoing environment, with mutual support, not where if they step one foot wrong, their post will be removed.........

And I hear loud and clear when you say this is how you run the forum here.....

Millers If it was something unique I can understand where you are coming from and I have pmmed people on Self Promotion. The only thread of grants moved was an available thread, Now do you believe someone who has been here for this long did not know there was only one available thread ? Its been run that way since day one

and please deleted and moved are two different things..... Someone moving a smoker to the smoking section of the restaurant is not the same as kicking them out of the restaurant

Both points are valid.......

Its just a shame when a member of Grants stature decides its time to move on - the fact that he will go and check out Allthings is obviously nice for me on a personal level...

But I love this forum too, it was my introduction to the world of domaining full stop never mind .TV.....and to see Grant go is not a good day, any which way you look at it.......

Well Millers grant is leaving on his own valition no one told Grant to go anywhere, no one deleted his thread. Hope no one here ever sits in the wrong seat on an airplane

"Sir you sat in the wrong seat"
"Really ?
"Yes sir your ticket says row n and you are in row x"
"Well give me a parachute I am jumping out of this plane Nobody moves me "

Some good comedy here if you read into it.

But seriously, rules are rules, and in other forum communities I have been in they usually do email or PM the user letting them know exactly what happened.

but I also agree with EQ, this is NOT a babysitting job, and I am sure that the mods have enough work to do without being concerned about certain post's popping up where they do not need to be.

Regardless of rules, personalities and parachutes, from what I know this is a strict environment, and I even though I love this forum, it is kinda harsh. But can you imagine what this place would become without the rules? SPAM CENTRAL if you ask me.

I am glad we have rules, and I am glad I am still here - wish that Grant would stay and just get a little thicker skin, dont let it bother you so much!
I remember what someone told me one time I got mad (on another forum - audiworld.com - lol) They told me not to take it so personally, its just the internet!

And it is, just the internet.

Now move along, nothing to see here, please move along now.

Stick around...I've been corrected by Equity

And in retrospect, I deserved it.

I love namepros, great community.

Stick around and let Equity be as he may.

Wishing everyone the very best!

Actually, a LINK to an Excel or Word file of 52,000 domains would've been very useful for us to use our own methods to find the premiums we wanted. You know, since Enoms interface for that was absolute crap.

Did DTVF make a thread with the entire 52,000 names listed? I wish I could've copied that before it was deleted.

Grant,

we did joined the .TV forum and namepros.com almost the same time. we have discussed about loads of stuff related to .TV on PM and forums. Now I know somethings hurt, but everything in life hurts at some stage or the other. This has been our little .TV family. It will hurt us to see a brother of ours leave this community. I would sincerely request you to reconsider this thought.

Equity,

I am sure everyone is happy here since you have made this place. Thanks for it.

Briman Nothing was DELETED if people are looking for a pm on a move that's not happening......... As I said deleted and moved are two different things. Let me get this str8 you first posted in the wrong area and someone had to move it , now they should spend more time pmming you to let you know they moved it? anything else ? Are you hungry I will order you lunch from your favorite restaurant.

Generally when people put something in the wrong place and someone fixes their mess those people are happy since they didn't have to do it themselves

People should focus on maybe some real development or sales instead of semantics IMO

James, IMO Equity or any of the other mods should not have to send a PM or warning before keeping the board in order. Of course it would be nice, but as this board continues to grow so does the demand for order. I'm not sure of Equity's schedule, but I assume that this is not a full time job for him. If I was in his place I probably would have done the same thing. For all of us who have been around on this board for the last 6 months or longer knows that Equity has run this board very fairly and with patience. I don't know if this board would have been the same without him.
