My first Dubai domain sale

I think this is a good news for Dubai/UAE related domain investors. I have just sold partydubai.com for 500$ (private sale) to a person from the Emirates. So heads up for all those who have invested money in these domains, im quite sure they will pay off in the end. If you have sold a Dubai domain recently, please share it here!

My friend was recently approached for a domain he owns (dirham.com) by a buyer from dubai. Hopefully, he might be able sell it for high $$$ as dirham is the currency of dubai (UAE) and of several other arab countries.

Dirham is also a possible and pretty good typo for Durham as in the UK city - Its quite Touristy there.

Majority of them I did'nt but its nice when you get it aswell - GoPc - Did you notice you just did a typical typo for Dubai :hehe: I do that all the time !

Congratulations on the sale...

Dubai is projected to be the number one tourist spot by the year 2015. Dubai derives a major portion of its revenue from non-oil based sources. It has some of the most amazing attractions(Ex. an indoor ski-slope in the middle of the desert).

I registered DubaiMobile.mobi not because of PPC, but for resell value. I am trying to purchase both generic AND brandable names that would appeal to an end-user. The $500 you got for your domain was a fair price.

The only dubai related names I have been able to get were a couple of Palm Islands related ones.

I know they're a little long, but they're to the point. Also, since there are now actually 3 palm shaped islands, I thought this made sense. Realty and property domains have usually always been good sellers.

We'll see eventually. They might be duds....

Only just... had them over at Fabulous until recently.

The Dubai Communications market seems to be heating up. Lots of people, Lots of infrastructure to be deployed, Lots of people to serve. It's a bull market.

Land Lines, despite alot of the emphasis on wireless, will still be a huge part of it though, with all the tourism, hotels, resorts, etc. Don't rule out the value of a good 'ol land line

But I agree with the assessment and the deployment of wireless networks in the area. Tourists always carry cell phone. And talk about ROAMING fees! LOL!!!
