I bought my first few dot tvs today. I bought them because Google's keyword tool shows they get searched a lot. I thought I'd put them up as mini-sites and hopefully make some sales though affiliate programs.

Please tell me how I did. Your suggestions are most welcome. Thanks

AndroidPhones has tm infringement all over it. Androidtv.tv not so sure about because android is still a word, neither are worth messing with. The others are less than spectacular imho. Good luck in you're future .tv endeavors.

With your affiliate development plans, I would definitely keep flipflops, and GardenTools. I think you could do well with those 2 online. Great keywords.

PatioGarden does not sound fluid to me at all. I am not sure that could work well for you without a ton of work. Ok, yeah this one is not good at all, just looked it up - "Patio Garden" doesn't even show up for me in "phrase" searches. yeah, that is a long tail .com type domain but missing a 3rd word, like patio garden benches, etc. I really don't like this one at all.

and the Android's - definitely not cool - TM.

But, I really hope you follow thru with your affiliate dev. plans with flipflops and garden tools. I would seriously love to hear how that goes for you.

Best of Luck to you,
Vito

If you flip a flipflop that would be a flipped flipflop but if you couldn't it would be a flopped flipflop.

I like FlipFlop. It's cute in that British sunburned tourist in Spain kind of way. The rest I don't.

Could also be a PolitiVideo site

Here's what he said LAST week: Drill Baby Drill.
Here's what he said THIS week: Err, maybe not.

Hey, thanks for all of your replies.

Ok, so help me out here on two things...

First, I searched the TESS and didn't really seem to find a google TM. A few other Androids and their logos, but nothing on google or anyone seemingly phone related. Also, I know from searching that Android Data sued google for TM infringement. Does Google or anyone really have a Tm on Android? If so, I'm gonna try and delete this domain.

Second, I used Google's keyword tool to search "Patio Garden." It got more than 6 million broad, 4400 exact and 135,000 phrase. Am I using this tool wrong? Are these even decent numbers?

Help!

Android | Brand Guidelines

You used the tool right - patio garden might work for a SMB that is in the business of installing said gardens. It's a lot of work and a picture/movie can highlight your builder skills.

It's easy to get hung up on searches. It's good for long tail .comming. Not sure it translates well to .TV where I would think purpose fits.

Yeah, I saw the brand guidelines. Then I searched more and found out that another guy running androidunderground.com or something like that was rejected by Amazon because of the trademarked android in the domain.
Ok, let's see if I can delete it.

As for the other, I think you're probably right. If it's too much work, what's the point?

I meant patio gardens are a lot of work. Showing the end result / portfolios is worth a million words/pictures.

No one is going to just show up and buy TV domains. IMHO.

Gotcha. I thought you were saying trying to build a successful affiliate site with patio garden would be more work than it;s worth. Hey, thanks for your help.

I like three of those domains, lots of potential. Drop the android domains, though.

I dont know what flipflops is. Garden domains are nice keywords, but I think they dont match .TV extension. Forget about Androids, TM.

I really like the .tv extention and although I like some of your names, do not think they fit with the ext ..

Sorry just me :)

Good luck

Well, it was my first shot. It's a process, huh?

I bought the garden domains because they're such great keywords. My thinking was, and still is to some extent, that the straight-forward names might lead people to my sites. There they might find how-to's, decorating and layout ideas, product reviews etc. and a bunch of links to affiliates. Could include a fair amount of photos and video. Also, PatioGarden and GardenTools aren't really being used in the other extensions. They're either parked or they're being used for SEO purposes.

Which leads me to my next thought...Maybe some giant like Loews or Home Depot might want these names for SEO. Maybe even HGTV

Am I way off base with this line of thinking? How should I be thinking when looking for new domains?

FlipFlops - you know, like sandals without the strap around your heel. Huge keyword. Thought it might make a nice flipflops/sandals/shoes affiliate site. Or, be purchased by someone looking to support another site.

Or...maybe a site of politicians saying one thing one day and another thing the next.

Hi yas :)

No no you are not way off you have some nice names ..

Personal thoughts like mine.. are just that, mine...

Please dont be put off

I adore .tv ext but think that even if names are good / great does not automatically mean they fit well with the ext same with .info .org ...

I like your flipflops but seriously what does flipflops.tv mean or could mean..

Yes developed could be fantastic but its not naturally great without the developement

again Just my opinion

I have many .tvs as I said I like the ext but ... Not all names fit.. IMO

Oh, no, I'm not put off at all. Feedback like this is why I joined this forum. I appreciate all the responses and I'm trying to include it in my thinking.

I was thinking some type of development, again joining CJ or some other affiliate program. Trying to make a few dollars. And, I probably have to go that route. I registered these at name dot com and I don't think they offer a grace period.

Thanks again and any more thoughts or insights are certainly welcome.

Oh, I almost forgot...

Part of my thinking with FlipFlops dot tv was influenced by the recent sale of Shoes dot tv. I think another post here says it sold for $18.000. I know "Shoes" is far better than "FlipFlops," but still, kind of in the same product line. Anyway, that's what I was thinking.

Really? Is there anything that cannot be expressed or promoted with video, esp online, interactive video?

btw, FlipFlops.tv could be a natural political site.
