.MX Discussion and Showcase

Wow, great news about the re release of .mx domains. I think this has huge potential considering the population in mexico is 100 mil. Those who already have a .com.mx or .org.mx domain can pre register teh same domain in .mx extension. Luckily I registered a few months back these domains, please tell me the best in order please:
gun.com.mx
see.com.mx
ear.com.mx
war.com.mx
won.com.mx
cuentas.com.mx (accounts in spanish)
cesta.com.mx (basket in spanish)
cestas.com.mx (baskets)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

They're doing nothing to promote the extension, in fact they're actually discouraging investing in .MX.

Well, .mx is the extension for Mexico.
Unlike .co they have not been pimping it up to foreigners. It's not their concern. IMO it's not a bad thing. The extension will grow slower but on better ground: more local websites and bona fide development.

I think it's fine if they concentrate on local registrants. But let's not forget it is still a developing country, so if the average Mexican has to pay up to $50 a year, it will be quite tough...

Or are there lower registration prices for Mexican citizens? I think I can remember someone mentioning that here.

I don't believe that there is any price difference for citizens. There was a very good promotion a few months back though. About 50% depending on the registrar. It would be nice to see that come around again.

99 Wow that is quite the renewal fee at $50 a pop! Nice to see someone is bullish on .mx

I am not really a believer in other extensions for resale but I wanted something super generic and memorable for a developed site.

Expired.mX (Available Domain Name Mail Exchange) - Coming Soon.

Yep all renewed and actually grabbed another 50. So I have 170 all up.

Neubox are much cheaper about $22

Wow! I have about 40 myself. Some at neubox also, but I find their registration process wayyy to slow.

Have you had any good sales yet?

No sales at all but a bit of traffic on some of them. They are really end-user targeted domains so I'm not expecting to for several years. Long term investment this one.

And Neubox are pretty good with customer service. They do speak English well and if regging in bulk you can just send a list and they will tell you how much to pay by Paypal.

Anyone developing .mx domains? I only got .mx and I wonder how they work with google. I see google doesn't use Google.mx - Instead they use the Google.com.mx My question is why?

Otherwise I think .mx has a great future. It's an undervalued asset right now, that only will increase in value with time.

Anyone wants out of the .mx race, just PM me and I may buy your .mx domains.

I developed a site for someone, minisite for flash games. it ranks on the 3rd page of google.com.mx already for the keyword term in the domain and it doesnt even have content on it yet, just Latin 'lorem ipsum dolor' placeholder. gonna put some content on it soon and do a little link building and hopefully should move up to page one.

Does anyone know if there is a backorder service available for .mx names? I haven't been able to find one. Thanks.
