The Metaverse is the next big thing with many of the Big Tech players already involved so thought it deserved a dedicated ‘MV’ thread.

Lots of keywords like Glasses, NFT’s etc are already taken but there are lots still available.

Just picked up ‘MVTokens’ in king

Happy hunting!

Guys lets all play nice. If you got the .mv name you wanted, great. No need to turn on each other. And hopefully they can not take back your name.

Since *.mv goes through such a weird registration process, these are my observations:

1) Unfortunately, Marcaria and 101Domain seem to have different lists of what names are "unavailable to register", but if you ask, they will provide their list to you. @silentg list is a great start. For 101Domain, this will save you the $19 non-refundable application fee if you know ahead of time you can't register it (even thought their website says it's available and allows you to go through payment)

2) "Unavailable" could mean a) reserved by registry b) someone else owns already c) pending = in process of being registered . Since it can take up to 30 days to register, if a domain is pending by Marcaria customer, then 101domain may not know about the status and think it's available. That could be what's causing inconsistencies.

3) It shouldn't really take 30 days, about 14 days max is what I've seen. Just ask the registry for status update. If they come back and decline your registration, you'll get a refund immediately.

4) There may be some names that were previously unavailable to register that are now available. This is just my guess that perhaps the tld is seeing popularity of .mv registrations and releasing more names.

Good luck to all.

Did you study math? Do you know how you can define a set, including a set of forbidden names? You can set it by enumeration, or you can use a rule. For example, if there is a rule against sexy names, names xxx.mv porn.mv sex.mv will be banned even though there is no such list. I note that the rule I'm talking about is not a ban on gambling names, although there is such a rule in a number of domain zones.
So you can’t show how casino.mv is reserved by the registry. Meanwhile, I gave proof that 101domain said sports.mv should be reserved. Kudos for getting it.

keep it and thank me later.
BOTS's vegas.mv is live now.
Pretty cool frontpage animation.
Excited for the finished concept.

I can, but I don't want to give a rule that casino.mv, and other names cannot be registered. Because under this rule, many already registered names will need to be abolished. True, I have a hope that they came up with this rule recently, and it is not retroactive. And this rule is so amazing that no one will guess it.

I also think that some names that used to be banned or reserved are now allowed. Therefore, I managed to register sports.mv, and not thanks to mysterious machinations.

maybe we should just publish/maintain a list of unavailable .mv
social.mv was on the list already

but don't give up! there are plenty of premium names still available if you can stomach the registration costs
try reserving sucks.mv out of spite :)

maybe they're getting greedy and seeing the value of these names in .mv and want to hold onto themselves
or
maybe they'll start being like some other registrars and charge more initial registration/recurring annual renewal fees for the "premium" names than the standard rate

can't blame them as metaverse (and we) have helped prop .mv visibility

They have a very touching attitude towards animals.
By some miracle, I managed to register a dog.mv in the footsteps of Musk and dogecoin cryptocurrency. But then I was denied pet.mv vet.mv cat.mv and even wolf.mv

My hamster Teddy is offended. Teddy says "hamster.mv" is still available to register and no one wants it.

Agree. The .mv registry can make a lot of money if they were managed professionally. Very frustrating experience.

I personally would try to hold on to casino.mv.... it's a very good keyword for the whole concept but I get the frustration. In similar boat.

I personally think as difficult as things are with the registry right now that there will be improvements and the .mv extension will do well in the future.

After I first started registering .ai names for AI en masse in 2011, I advertised them wildly for four years until they started selling. I think that the radical social network Gab, which was kicked out from everywhere, decided to hide in .ai domain zone after reading my advertisement. And they called by my last name. gab.ai, then gab.com. Although not sure. Now I have registered gab.mv to make a social network in the Metaverse. Or sell this name to an existing network. Because I don't want to be persecuted for free speech like them.

Time to unwatch this thread- you guys should create new thread regarding .mv registry issues.

It would be good if from this thread to transfer to a new thread all messages concerning .mv

avatar.mv name transfer to the buyer was successfully completed. It would be good if the buyer told what was happening on his part. How much and for what did he pay?
What is the sale procedure? The buyer should make an account where the name was registered, on 101domain or Marcaria, and the transfer will be smooth.

It would be nice if you guys start a new thread for these alt extension names. Some of us get emails on every post including you guys bickering. Such a thread may allready exist not sure.

You can add love.mv to the "reserved by the registry" to the list :xf.cry:
