Music database site.

Hey,

I'm not a designer by profession, but I am developing a website for my friend and do not wish to pay for a designer. So I thought I would have a go myself.

It is basically a Social/Tube site based around music. Users submit albums (well known or unsigned), with ratings, user profiles, band profiles, messaging and so on..

So I thought I would give a design a go. There is two images below, only difference is the background. Friend doesn't like the vector/sunburst image, but I prefer it.

If you can give any improvment ideas let me know, (and before someone comments, the news feed titles won't be so big, i cba to edit them)

If anyone has suggestion for text-link colours, let me know, I couldnt find a colour which went well beside the pale blue.

Did not get a review for 5 days, by this time i got feedback elsewhere and have now half developed the site..
